So my budget is about $60 (in Latvia up to 40 Ls because tech tends to be higher priced).
I was looking at the new G-Series from Logitech. More to G230, but also considering G430 though what's the difference? Basically G430 is the same as G230, but with a small USB sound card that does the virtual surround? If so what would be a better choice - getting a G230 and later on buying a Creative SoundBlaster Recon 3D (default edition) that has a headphone AMP and THX virtual surround or the G430 with the Dolby Digital virtual surround. These headsets haven't come out in Latvia yet so i really don't know the pricing, but the soundcard i was looking at is around 25-30 Ls (about $50-60), so that would be a bit more expensive (though i wouldn't buy the soundcard right away). I'm open to different headsets too.

R.A.T. 3, Steelseries Sensei RAW, Logitech G400s. These are all great choices, the R.A.T. one is really a mouse that some people love and others hate.

I'd recommend for you to stick with your single HD 7850. If it's a 2 GB card you should be fine on max or almost max settings on 1080p. But really don't get another HD 7850 - from the testing we have seen crossfire is just a big waste of money.

You'll have to save up a bit... By the time you'll get the money probably the Haswell with LGA 1150 will be out, but now the MSI Gaming series boards look great with their good onboard audio and killer lan

My vote goes to Silverstone SG10 or SG09 - they're pretty much the same choose which one you like better.

Thanks for the cool contest, Linus - SOO WANT IT

Yeah i was thinking about it when i saw that it's priced the same as the other 2 in my country. I always thought it was really expensive. Is the COD edition any different from the default G9X? Because the COD edition is cheaper (weird, i would think that the COD logo would cost as much as the apple logo).

What would be the best mouse to replace my MX518?

Basically. If you increase the power limit you should be able to overclock more, though i just got my overclock stable when i did increase it. So you could get a few mhz by increasing it, but not really a lot.

I have a setup in mind:
MOBO: MSi Big Bang Xpower II
CPU: Intel i7-3930K (no need for the 3970X - it's a waste of money, obviously i think you don't really care about wasting money :D)
RAM: Kingston HyperX Beast 4x8GB 2400 Mhz
Videocard: 3x GTX 680 (No need for quad gpu - you'll have lots and lots of problems. I really think that even 3 gpu's is an overkill. In some situations 4 gpus perform worse than 2, because of the drivers and unoptimized games, i still don't think that you need more than 2 gpus for gaming)
Case: Corsair 900D, pre-order it if the build can wait a bit.
SSD's: OCZ RevoDrive 240GB - for boot. 2x Samsung 840 Pro's 256GB in RAID 0
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200rpm (if you need more than that you're gonna be having lots of p0rn to store in there :D )
PSU: Corsair AX1200i
Sound "card": Asus Essence One
Headset: Steelseries 7H
Speakers: Corsair SP2500
Keyboard: Cherry MX (don't know your preference on switches) get CM Storm or Ducky.
Mouse: It really depends on what you like, i'd say go for the R.A.T. 7, but i know a lot of people don't like this mouse.
Custom watercooling for this system, 480mm rads and stuff - 900D no problem.
Monitors: Depends how big you want them. Definetly IPS or PLS, if not going 3D.
Definetly build it as a completely custom system. Find the color scheme you want - i went neutral with a black motherboard.
The specs i gave you here with everything shouldn't go over $7000.

Geforce Titan and 8970

Asus Rampage IV Extreme or MSi Big Bang Xpower-II
And remember - Linus said he would go to that person who would have 2 of these Ares II in one system :DD

Thanks for the replies. I increased the power limit to the maximum and it was all fine, watched the graphs atfer it and understood everything why it crashed - the power consumption was 105%. This for me is basically a preperation for the Crysis 3, that will most likely not run very well even with the overclock... Hope to atleast High not Ultra settings. Far Cry 3 ran fine at about 40-50 fps on Ultra - before i couldn't do that, it would be around 20-30 fps (unplayable). So i ran tests. Got 1100 Mhz base on core and 1551 Mhz (3000 Mhz actual) on Memory. Without adjusting any other settings (voltage and power limits).I've heard that pushing more voltage on the GPU degrades it, that true?
EDIT: It ran benchmarks without crashes or anything, but now when i tried Far Cry 3 on Ultra the game crashed. That crash is an unstable overclock or just the game itself?
EDIT: Actually Afterburner allows me to change the voltage, i can increase it 100 mV.

So i have my Gigabyte GV-N660OC-2GD GTX 660 OC edition and i want to push it further. Currently with it's stock settings under load it goes 50-55 celsius MAX. What software would you guys recommend for overclocking and what software to test the stability? Maybe someone here has the same card and could share their results with this card. I've never dealt with GPU overclocking before. Any advice for me?

What mobo are you using?

Sensei RAW. Don't get the glossy.

You cold get a DSLR for 300 pounds, but 200 pounds is not enough for any DSLR camera.
Heres a Canon 1100D with kit lens - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-1100D-Digital-Camera-3-5-5-6/dp/B004MPQXZA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359738320&sr=8-1
A good camera for it's price.

If you're not going to have a computer inside it just the 2 consoles i would go for a CM Storm Scout- The 1st one will be alrigh no need for the version 2 as it would only be useful if putting a PC inside it. The Scout has a handle thats useful for transfering to LANs

Today was dissapointing. A delay to september and no mentions of PC version.

Nice build man ; )

1. Find the 2 front panel pins labeled Power (check your manual)
2. Cable ties. A good case with room behind mobo tray
3. It won't but don't really attack them with it :D
Thoughts on Steamroller?
in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Posted
From what i've heard about Haswell's improvements in performance i'm really looking forward to steamroller. I'm pretty sure the 970, 990FX, 990X will support the steamroller after a BIOS update. As we are seeing more and more games going to multi-threading and the next gen consoles being 8 cored i think the next AMD chips have a potential to get back in the gaming cpu market as a true competitor for Intel. Using a Core i5 now i'm getting worried about it not performing that well in 2 years time - just as Core 2 Duos became outdated really quickly.
