I have sent plenty of slow speed complaints & I was being humorous. I missed that video. Most defiantly I have business class Comcast. I've run speed tests. Its the VPN. Craigslist is blocked the most. Super annoying. PIA pretty much total crap now. I watch the stupid little robot icon flash on & off, "ruby stoped working" "you are NOT connected" never works correct, always a new version & then still don't work... YOU WOULD THINK A APP WOULD GET BETTER WITH MORE USERS.... BUT NO. BEEN LAME SINCE STARTED ADVERTISING ON LTT LOL.... Just clicked "leak proof VPN' LOL.... What part of "leak proof" don't PIA understand.... Junk Oh & why do I complain here & not to PIA directly? Have you tried to use their site? Junk. "Give us 50 million bits of info to to even put in a ticket" When your ticket system is setup like theirs, you are saying, "don't put in a ticket"

I've been using PIA for about 3 years now. All of a sudden, they are SLOW AF, blocked more & more & did I say SLOW AF? I blame the LTT ad. As, I saw a ad for PIA just as they went to poo. My guess is about a s#!t ton new customers all at once with no scaling..... I just give up on projects because the sites are blocked. Lame. I want privacy & productivity. LTT, please find me that VPN. Just ignore what ever company is paying you. Test them, inform us. Thx

So I found out about them from their ads on LTT & NCIX. I bought it & put it on 2 Macs. Right away it did not do what they said it would. No drag files & copy paste only worked every once in awhile. I put in a support ticket & the response was this. "We know its doesn't work, want a refund?". I'm like, WTF... Why are you advertising something you know doesn't work? Bla bla bla.... Fast forward & a few weeks later they put out a email saying "new version, buy now". I'm like WTF. You have a new version in the pipeline & your response to your app not working correctly is "want a refund".... I'm like WTF. Well, they are just milking their base customers. If you are knowingly sell a broken app & then sell the fix. You are a Capitalpath. --Capitalpath "A capitalist who's capitalism is sociopathic A good company would just update to a working version & keep selling the original. Not, make a working version & sell it to all the same people you just sold the broken version to.

Its a Mac Pro 4,1 that has the 5,1 firmware

I'm looking to buy a LTO-5 drive & I'm seeing they say SAS as the cable type. I have not dealt with SAS. How can I connect SAS to Mac Pro?

Where do I start... Apple makes it really hard to run a business with their systems. I have 2 locations, production & post production. All Apple. I have so many iTunes accounts its crazy. When i migrate I loose current important passwords in Safari & it brings back old deleted passwords. A new OS every F'ing year, really... So they sCrap together a bunch a new ideas & make them work correctly just in time to mess everything up again. I could go on but I'm like a busy person & stuff

I think I'm going to move a bunch of data around. Going to move all my master files to my RAID10. Then I am going move the oldest RAW files to the 2 16TB externals, keep 1 at home & one at the office. Not sure how the math is going to work out. I had not seen those. Looks like a very affordable option I may adopt. Good to know. My current RAID10 is at the office. They read & write to it constantly. I thought RAID10 was the bee's knees. Up to 2 drives can die. But when I was setting it up a drive died & the whole RAID died. Might have been a eSATA connection, but one whole external ejected. I am hoping now that the RAID10 has been running & the major transfers are done, it will be more stable. No can do. I've already had an occasion when I needed a bunch of my old master files. Upscaling can make old content new.

That would cost $. I am trying to use what I own. There is no "problem". There is more than one solution. Trying to find out what people smarter than me would do. Yes, smarter people would probably have more $, & just buy whatever. But, for the sake of (something) Lets have the smart people pretend that they are stuck on a island or some place they have to use the same equipment I have.

I have 15x 3TB external HDD's full. I have 4 enclosures, 2x 4x4TB 1x 8x2TB & 1x 5TB. To use as backup The drives are full of a mixture of RAW, master files & rendered versions. I want to organize it all, its all old stuff I'm not trying to loose. But if I organize the backup, & loose a main drive, It will be impossible know where the backup is. I use SoftRAID on Mac. The newest drive in the bunch is one that just came in from the recovery company (ouch). The rest are all pretty much from 2010-2013. Ideally it would all be in a nice RAID10, or 2 nice RAID10's. But$. What would you do? Thanks! The photo is the cart & Mac I setup to maintain the 15x external HDD enclosures. I had to cut out a piece off the back to get that many USB into it.

So I have this Gainward 780 that stopped working, I won't be putting in a oven or blasting with a heat gun. I'll put it up for auction on eBay as DOA & some true tech can buy & fix it.

Anyone around PDX have a oven or kiln that they are NOT using for cooking food ever again? I want to try to fix a GC by baking it at 385F. I've seen 2 videos that this method work for. Thanks!

I run Goodsync to sync my studio with my post production office. Goodsync max's out at about 1.5mbps. Comcast hooked up a office next to mine & messed up my internet. Dropped down to 16mbps. At that point Goodsync was at about 600kbps. Why can't Goodsync get 1.5mbps with 16mbps speeds? I am about to move my studio to the woods. Internet is up to 10mbps with a phone line. Any way to force 1.5mbps sync speeds through a 10mbps line? I seam to remember watching a LTT video about combining multiple internet sources into 1 faster intent connection. Anyone ever combine a phone line with a satellite ?
