  1. So... I've found the following so far, and I'm about ready to try this process, if anyone can give me the green-light go-ahead, that'd be reassuring and appreciated... WD nvme drivers uefi boot disc drive boot from disc drive 2nd slot instal phys disable legacy support? remove drives hit delet on turn on go to advanced in bios onboard devices pci express m.2 mode put windows boot disc in drive f10 save reboot custom (advanced) if windows installer appears select drive delete next install
  2. The drivers are not installed via a downloader app so it's hard to know which drivers are necessary and compatible with each other, but my problem involved the disk drive not being read with the m.2 physically installed and only one of my two backups being recognized which confused the boot manager into not reading any of the media at all. So for the time being I'm using the unstable hard drive that crashed.
  3. It IS compatible... I need to know how to reconfigure the BIOS... I hope this didn't already drown in new posts
  4. From what I've read so far others have managed to have their z170 gaming 7 by gigabyte work with nvme m.2s but that's what I have and the rest of the mobo is just a bunch of sata connections... I'm REALLY hoping this isn't it, because it means it will be more cost effective to get a new mobo and I don't want/can't have that happen right now because I need to start working again with my rig, like, yesterday...
  5. gigabyte g1 gaming 7, intel cpu i7 quad core 6700, trident z 32gb 2800 ram, sli 1070 rog gtx gpus, m.2 = wd black nvme ssd 256 gb, windows 8.1 student edition, thermaltake tower case with hotswap sata connections to 6 sata connection on mobo and two m.2 options one between pcies where gpus are housed, and one above just below cpu and cpu cooler which is by corsair, pcie mini slot 2 occupied by asus all-band wifi reciever
  6. I recently lost the viability of a pair of hybrid drives and have had to switch to a standard drive and a brand new m.2 ssd, but when I tried to boot from the bios it doesn't read the m.2 at all! Please help me! I am eager to reinstall my programs and get back to work!
  7. Does anyone know if there are any scientific/medical studies about the best distance of a display for the least eye damage? Also, what are the actual risks of too much blue-light?
  8. @Oshino Shinobu It's lame that we are being punished for our enthusiasm, but I get that. Unfortunately, that makes sense. Fortunately, what also makes sense is that when VR becomes more popularly available SLI will be a NECESSITY. So, then we will have a definite advantage in the end. o/ ... bruh sli VR sister fister
  9. @kalnick alright. I will try that later when I have the focus to hook up directly to my MOBO without sneezing on it or something unfortunate. For the time being, thanks for the hint. :3
  10. @Oshino Shinobu You were right... I don't get it. Why would SLI double frame rates in OW but totally break ME:C? Anyway, I turned of v-sync, turned on gpu restriction, set it to hyper, disabled sli, and now it plays like a console, but obviously looks like it should. Thanks for the solid assistance OS. :3 Still though, was I supposed to get drivers for SLI or is it just not really meant for some games?
  11. @braeckmans78 Wow. You sure are asking for something there. You are pirating forged bank accounts, doing business on Outlook Express, advertising on Linus Tech Forums, and THEN you took the effort to sticky key the phone number? You are either a comedic genius, or way wayyy over your head. Probably just stop so I can get back to troubleshooting Mirror's Edge Catalyst. K, TY, Bye now.
  12. @Oshino Shinobu You know what. That's probably true. I just got the SLI and I assumed it would just make it better, but maybe SLI is overkill for this game. Definitely gonna check that one out right now.
  13. @Majestic It's legit. I never rip games. RIG: i7 4 core 4.2 Ghz 6700 series Intel 2x sli rog strix 1070s 32 gb ddr4 2800 cps 64 mb cache hardrive hdd on sata 3.0 display port 144hz 1ms response 2k monitor
  14. @kalnick Yes. These are the drives. What can you make of this? My trays are hotswaps as you can see but when I 'swap' and click them into my tower they are unreadable even in BIOS. They are WD Western Digital 7200 rpm year 2008.
  15. @Oshino Shinobu I haven't tried that thorough of an approach yet. I know when I first installed the game it was running just fine until I got to the first non tutorial mission and then Faith starts to move super slow like she's being reinstanced in the game and the entire game environment skips as I walk. So, I couldn't do any of the timed challenges and it was very frustrating. I'm going to try what you said with incremental tweaks though and see what I come up with... Rig-wise, there's no logical excuse. I run OW at the highest imaginable settings and get 124 FPS... ME Catalyst has issues and that means I have issues. >_<
