  1. Went through the BIOS and disabled fan control for that header. Still no change but I made sure to fell the pump and did not recognize any discernible vibration or hum from the pump either.
  2. Not sure how I would do that or where I would start. Any links to a breakdown vid that you recommend or just google and wing it? Not sure that I felt any vibration or heard any hum when it was on earlier. Pump is plugged into the CPU fan header on the mobo as it an AIO. Not sure how I would go about plugging directly into the power supply. PS is 800w supernova G2 iirc. Not sure that I felt any vibration or hearn any hum when it was on earlier. I had the case on its side when reapplying thermal paste and problem continued.
  3. Not sure what's going on atm but, sitting at idle my Ryzen 1700x is parked between 75 and 80 degrees c on a liquid cooler (starts creeping up after 5 or so minutes without any more than 3% load). Worked great last night without an issue. Fast forward to just now and halfway through a Youtube video and without any notifications, the pc shut itself down. Thought, "wtf" gave it a quick once over making sure nothing was out of place, let it sit for a minute, and started it back up. Went fine on start-up (no codes/erros quick post), until checking cpu temps and seeing 93c at idle. Shut it down, replaced thermal paste, dusted radiator, and tried again. Back to the upper temps that i mentioned before. Is my liquid cooler dead, dying, magically out of fluid, etc? I don't have an air cooler so I can't confirm that it is a cooler or cpu issue though the sudden change tells me maybe the pump died. The fans powerup no problems as they are designed to be powered through the pump so the mobo plug has power as well. Does anyone know how to confirm that the pump has died? Specs: -Ryzen 7 1700x no current OC -X370 Taichi mobo -Celsius S36 liquid cooler (had for nearly 1yr) -Windows 10 64bit -Zero windows errors, or notifications for monitoring software
  4. Alright, I'm going with the monitor. I was doing some searching and the deal is too good to pass up right now. Just called and the one I had them put on hold this morning is still there. Thanks for the help guys.
  5. You make a good point ACE, but I can't shake that feeling of Nvidia delaying Volta a little bit because Vega didn't "scare" them enough, and watching the monitor I thought was a great deal end up cheaper by the time I snag a new GPU.
  6. Yeah RK that was what I was starting to think.
  7. I'm pushing it as long as I can. That's the thing. I will wait until Volta drops for Nvidia before giving in on a new GPU. And considering Volta isn't announced yet...
  8. Ok, I'm in an interesting predicament. My local MicroCentre has a pretty great sale on a monitor I have been eyeing up. Its 1440p 144hz and G-Sync. They issue is that I am still running a 980 because I am waiting until Volta drops or at least a big drop in 1080ti prices. So, the question remains. Do you guys think I should snag the monitor because of the deal and put up with not being able to really enjoy it until I have a greater GPU? OR wait and get both at a later date (considering monitor prices may drop a bit as tech moves forward)?
  9. Honestly, I'd probably say the DeathAdder is the most "proven" gaming mouse and definitely most used. HOWEVER, mice are very different for each person. The best reviews I have ever come across are from www.RocketJumpNinja.com search the 3 mice and you'll probably find a ton of helpful info to make a better decision.
  10. Not sure about your time availability or skills but I know some friends that picked up Captioning jobs online for extra cash in college.
  11. Wow, that's just hard to look at. I expected TR to handle Intel fairly well without too much competition but damn, that's just rough. 75% of the cores and 85% of the clock speed is not even close to being competitive, especially at 120% of the price.
