  1. So I recently upgraded from a 2700x to a 3600 (i only game don't need the extra cores and wanted to upgrade to a b550 board soon) and I have been having a huge issue ever since i switched to the 3600. I did have to install a beta bios on my MSI b350m gaming pro mb to get ryzen 3000 compatibility (which I am planning on buying this motherboard if that is a fix) I have tried multiple games, same issue, tried a clean windows install still nothing. Does any one have any knowledge of a beta bios breaking direct X? Or is this a time where I should RMA my CPU? (well aware the limitations of b350, got it when i wasn't as knowledgeable of PC's) I just wanna play gtames and cannot even play with my friends 10 minutes util my game crashes. I have tried every other potential fix to the "DirectX has encountered an unrecoverable error" and I am lost. Thanks.
  2. Hi, So I recently moved my rig into a corsair 280x with the included 2 rgb fans at the front and I am kind of bottle necked by only having 2 system fan headers on my motherboard. I have 2*3 pin fans from my old fractal case I would like to reuse in the case (trying to save some money, if I had the $ I'd get 2* identical fans). I was thinking To install them both on the bottom, below my GPU as an exhaust (using a micro atx board so the GPU fans are facing down with ~3 inches of clearance form the bottom of the case) but I thought I would consult this forum first. Additional info: I have 240mm of space at the top of the case as well. would really appreciate some help with what I can buy to power the 2 existing fans and the 2 I would like add, thanks!
  3. much appreciated for the help but the strip I have is just a 4 pin RGB strip...not a corsair one. Are there any adapters out there for it?
  4. Hi, I just transferred my PC into a corsair 280x case with the included 2*RGB fans (CORSAIR LL120 RGB) and for some reason the RGB strip header which worked in the old case is not working now. The red LEDs on the actual motherboard light up (like they did in the old case) but the RGB strip does not. I've triple checks the connection and orientation (and the strip does work with an external power). Is this some issue with the MSI Gaming app software interfering with the the corsair iCue software? I have tried to get the strip working after uninstalling the iCue software and nothing has changed. Any help is much appreciated! here is the mb: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/TsfmP6/msi-b350m-gaming-pro-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-b350m-gaming-pro
  5. Hi, Been looking for a way to backup my photos and videos to my D drive (HDD) on my desktop computer when I am home. I have a OnePlus 6t (running android 10) and a more than capable PC running windows 10 connected via ethernet with no internet data caps. Not looking for a cloud storage option but a way I back up my photos and videos every couple of months or so and still access them while on a network anywhere. (these 4K60fps videos do take up a hell of a lot of room and I sure as hell want to be able to look back at them in full quality 5-10 years down the line). Thanks!
  6. Hi all, Looking to get my hands on Samsung Galaxy buds for MSRP in white. Looking to get it within a reasonable amount of time and not April. (Don't care if it's online or in person) I live in the Boston area too if that helps...seems like everywhere is on backorder...
  7. Hi, I am looking to overclock my ryzen 3 1200, and I understand that MSI released a beta bios to fixed the glitched bios on their B350m gaming pro motherboard. Before I did that I wanted to see if there was any full release bios updates that fixed the voltage problem that was plaguing the out of the box bios. I have no problem with using the beta bios, it just seemed like it has been a long enough time since that beta bios was released (over 13 months ago) that an official bios update would have fixed the issue. Just wanted to know if anyone had heard anything. Thanks.

  10. is this what I'm looking for? https://e5.onthehub.com/webstore/OfferingsOfMajorVersionList.aspx?pmv=769faff4-d124-e511-940e-b8ca3a5db7a1&cmi_mnuMain=f764a1c9-eb5e-e011-971f-0030487d8897&ws=0904a235-8e4d-e511-940f-b8ca3a5db7a1&vsro=8
  11. is there a big catch that I don't know about with getting windows 10 with Dreamspark? Also, I do have a friend taking CS, how does that work?
  12. I want to build a PC before I head back to college in the fall. After watching the TechQuickie video on choosing the right PSU, I found myself second guessing whether I should get a 430W 80+ white, or a 450/500W power supply with a bronze rating. PC part picker says the system would consume around 260W. Here is the list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/MindofSamuel/saved/7Fc8dC . Any help would be greatly appreciated.
