So a few days ago, I built my first pc, and today I checked the BIOS in order to enable XMP. That's when I noticed that the CPU Core Voltage was defaulted to about 1.325. I researched and figured out that the default for an i7-6700k with no overclocks should've been about 1.2, so I manually set it to that. The CPU temps of my 6700k before reducing the VCore Clock to 1.2 was about 50c idle. After lowering it, the idle temps seem better now, but are still near 40-45c. At about 75% load, the temps go up to 70c. The motherboard averages around 35-42c. I know the problem is based around the CPU/Motherboard/Heatsink, since the GPU seems to be running at 35c idle-low load. I also noticed in the bios that SA, I/O, and GT voltages were high in default, but I don't know what they are so I couldn't change them.
Does anyone know why my CPU (6700k) temps are so bad when it isn't overclocked?
Another thing is that I may have put too much thermal paste. (CP7 Paste)
