  1. I got an old dell optiplex 790 a couple of weeks ago, put in a new power supply, graphics card, and an ssd. I've been playing games on it for a while and it's been working great. Today I moved it to my office, and now it won't boot to windows, just showing a black screen with a blinking typing indicator in the top left corner. There are no other messages. The boot screen shows before that blank screen, however, and the f12 menu doesn't show any irregularities. When I remove the boot drive it says it's missing, but won't boot when I plug it back in. I've already tried removing all peripherals, unplugging all the other drives, checking to make sure if everything's plugged in, and violently pressing all the buttons on my keyboard and mouse. All help is appreciated!
  2. My budget is around $1850, and yeah I already have the monitor. And you're right, the config probably would've been better lol. I'm going for a RTX 2080, 32gb of ram, 500gb ssd and 2tb hdd.
  3. Hi! I'm building a new PC relatively soon since nvidia released their RTX line rather recently, and I was just wondering what CPU would be best for my application. I'll mainly be using the computer for gaming (1440p 165hz every other day) and heavy video editing (4k 60 w/plenty of effects). To me it's clear the i7 has much better single core performance, but the ryzen has plenty of more cores. Which one do you think would be better for me? (Also note at the time the ryzen is $100 USD cheaper)
  4. Hello! I've recently been looking for a monitor that would be a tremendous upgrade over my laptop's screen. I've found a monitor that I really like (hp s270c), but the only place I can afford it is on open box in Newegg. I do have reasoning for choosing this monitor, and my budget is tight because I'm also getting a capture card. Anyways, 1. is it safe to buy open box? 2. Will it come with a power cable? 3. If it doesn't, will I be able to use a generic ac to DC power brick to power it? And for those interested, here's the Newegg link: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=24-276-184R
  5. My budget is around 1200, looking for a laptop with a 1060 and 16gb, and an ssd. I'd prefer a screen that can use the 1060 to its advantage, so higher resolution or framerate.
  6. Hi, I have a pretty solid budget, and am looking at laptops with 1060s to get an upgrade. (laptops are a must, I do a lot of lan gaming). On Newegg there's a predator with a 1060 6gb and g-sync. There's also an msi with 1060 3gb and a 120hz display. Which would be better?
  7. My steam is corbi333. I'm low level but doing heists rn. send an invite sometime
  8. I have a 2015 razer blade, and I was wondering if overclocking it was safe since it normally runs at around 85c under full load. I don't care about how hot the keyboard gets as I use an external one. What would be considered "safe" overclocking wise, and do you have any tips on how to make it run cooler?
