    nvidia also offers things like shadowplay and all of that jazz which is really neat, also whenever a new AMD line launches people say "well newer drivers are going to increase performance" and a few months later they complain about shitty AMD drivers. This was the case at the r9 290x launch and the rx 480 launch.

    main reason im so against AMD, every problem is blamed on faulty drivers and never quiet properly fixed

    why spend, what is it? 230$ right now for a 1060? and just save up now and use the iGPU of the 7700k and then you have 230$ less to spend, and 230$ already saved up for the 1080 TI. volta/vega are coming out soon i think (or whatever they are going to release) and prices will drop, so you never know. we might see a 1080 price drop from the 700$ to 500$, and the 1080 TI might do the same thing. so then you arnt trying to save another 500-700$ and just have to save 200-400$ instead. save money

    i bought the 1060 when it came out as a replacement for my 960

    upgrade path better my ass. There are bunch of older flight sims for example that only use up to two threads. fact is that an i5 4690k oc'd to 4,7ghz for me gets me 50% more fps than any Ryzen chip oc'd to 4ghz. The fact that an i5 gives you a tiny amount more fps on games that support 8 threads than a ryzen 5 speaks for itself. Using thread count and not benchmarks for comparison is completely pointless.

    ive seen countless problems with friends that went with ryzen,

    TL;DR

    Intel --> 7700K

    If you are willing to at least sell the Z270 mobo --> R5 1600 or maybe R7 1700 for better mins and similar averages to i5 and much better future usage than i7.

    Kaby lake and future shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath.

    If you get 60fps average but dips into 5fps that's a much worse experience than a 55fps average and dips only to 45fps.

    lol 7700K it is, not a chance in hell im going amd
