  1. So, I've been working on this situation for quite a while. After reviewing the discussion here, I replaced my motherboard. For a couple weeks, things seemed to be doing better. But things have been slowly, and steadily, declining ever since. Now, I'm seeing some blue screens again, and pretty regular app and chrome tab crashes. I have now replaced every single piece of hardware comprising my PC except for my processor. I'm at a loss for what else to try. I'm considering just burning my house down, changing my name, and moving to Costa Rica. Maybe an exorcism?? Kill me pls.
  2. I do not recall having seen that screen before, but I followed the steps you outlined and deleted the existing settings in any event.
  3. I don't know what that is, so I'm not 100% sure if I did or not. I've been trying everything I can find online to see if it helps tbh. I replaced my GPU today. No change. I guess that narrows it down to the motherboard or processor since there aren't any other components I haven't swapped yet... FML.
  4. Minidump.zip Had a few more crashes. Minidumps attached. I'm proceeding with the GPU swap either way at this point, but if there is anything else in these new dumps that seems relevant, it would be helpful to know. Seems like if the GPU isn't the culprit, it would have to be either the motherboard or processor...
  5. Zotac is replacing my GPU under the warranty. Unfortunately, they won't ship a replacement until they receive my GPU (even if I paid MSRP for it pending their receipt of the defective part), so I'm SOL for a while it seems. I appreciate your help with this. I'm not sure how common crappy return processes are in the component space, but I haven't seen anything like this in the greater marketplace in years. Edit: After many, many emails with way too many people at Zotac, they finally agreed to an advanced replacement (which they previously told me was completely impossible).
  6. What's the over-under on this being a bad motherboard? I think I've controlled for as many things as I can think of, and this just doesn't want to stop happening. Any thoughts on whether buying a new mobo might be a reasonable next step?
  7. I had reinstalled windows before making the post (and learning that these dump files exist), which is why there's only one there. I had another crash a few mins ago, so I could post another, but I'm not sure if two is enough to move the needle. I have attached the pair that I now have in case it helps. Do driver issues make sense if the PC is crashing on fresh windows installs? Minidump.zip
  8. Thank you. Let me know if this works better than the OneDrive version. Minidump.zip
  9. Hello all, The Problem in a Nutshell: I've been seeing tons of errors, app crashes, and BSODs/restarts on my PC (which I built about 5-6 months ago). The most common culprits for app crashes are WoW, Discord, and Chrome--conveniently, the three apps I use the most on this machine. It's not so frequent that the system is unusable, but is so frequent that it's making me want to pull my hair out. OS Version: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit System Specs: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JjDXfy CPU: Intel Core i9-13900K 3 GHz 24-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F GAMING WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card: Zotac GAMING Trinity OC GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB Video Card Case: Fractal Design Meshify 2 ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: SeaSonic VERTEX GX-1200 1200 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply BIOS Version: ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI BIOS 1402 (also happened on the version I had previously). I updated this about 10 days ago, and there has been a new version since, so I'll go ahead and update to v. 1501 after I post this thread (though I suspect that isn't the issue, since it was fine for months and then had this issue over multiple versions) Software Running During Crashes: World of Warcraft: Dragonflight (often but not always) Discord Chrome Spotify Give full details of any error messages and screenshots if possible: I did not save the dump for the (many) BSODs I got before I reinstalled my OS (RIP), but the one that happened after the reinstall is here (please tell me if I didn't do this right, I haven't used this tool before): https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aq5ZErfslGGLkV2n0GKEHd4hNdvj?e=tWrop9 When I tried using the Resource and Performance Monitor, it says "Collecting data for 60 seconds..." and never changes (and the save option is grayed out even after half an hour). If I'm missing something with this, please tell me and I'll try again. I did save some photos of the BSODs (I did not succeed in getting them all, but here is a link to the ones I did get before they cleared): https://1drv.ms/f/s!Aq5ZErfslGGLkV6SEOFRWurxCMUy?e=JMawbA After one of the BSODs I got, Windows loaded into the "Let's finish setting up your PC" screen. Reason unknown. Event Viewer shows many errors of various types. If there is a way to export the list of errors, I'd be happy to do it (when I export it, I don't get an output that seems to have the info in it, so I'm probably doing something wrong). Troubleshooting Steps I've Done Already: SFC scan (sometimes finds errors and corrects them, but the corrections have had no effect) Windows memory test (no errors) MemTest86 (no errors) Updated bios I replaced my ram with two identical kits and actually saw way, way more frequent crashes and general system instability. Swapping the old sticks back in got me back to baseline. I removed all my secondary drives from the machine (two of which had old windows installs on them, though they weren't in use). No change. I formatted my boot drive (and all old drives that had previously had a windows install on them). Fresh install of Windows 10 Pro. No change. I reseated my GPU (I didn't do this as a troubleshooting step, but did have to to remove the two m.2s I had installed) I uninstalled Razer Synapse, which seemed to help for about a week, but then it started happening again, and after reinstalling windows, I have not reinstalled Synapse Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! Edit: Since I have a few other drives installed, I went ahead and installed windows on a different drive. The same issue happens on this install.
  10. Hello all, I have been having this issue for a few weeks. Any time I try to create a "New" item in windows explorer using the context menu, I get a blue wheel and about a 30 second delay before the list loads. Every item on the list works when it finally loads. I am used to making folders this way (even though there is another option I forget about every time I try to make one), and it's driving me bananas. Any suggestions on a fix? I've done a lot of googling and haven't come across an answer that works (other than reinstalling windows and/or setting my computer on fire). Attached is an image of my "New" menu in case it's useful. Thanks!
  11. I restart my PC a couple times a year (outside of windows updates). Power consumption is minimal when asleep, and I think I'm more likely to wear out my power button from nightly power cycling than my components from running all the time. But now I'm folding all night anyway, so shutting down is a non-starter for me.
  12. So to be clear, your predictions about investment don't need to come true at all for you to demand an apology from youtubers (LOL), but I need to give you the date on which Comcast is going to bend you over the neutrality table. Seems legit.
  13. This. Neither of us are Miss Cleo, so I don't expect either of us to know the future. But it's easy enough to look at how corporations with profit motives behave--they will do whatever makes them the most money. And if you think for a moment that treating all internet traffic as equal makes Comcast more money, then you're delusional.
  14. No, they're evil now. They're just also smart enough to not get caught with their hand in the cookie jar. It makes more sense to get people like you to argue that Comcast is really doing what's best for all of us in the hopes that anyone is gullible enough to believe it.
  15. Still waiting to see all the big investment your side promised. Thinking any change would show a result this fast, particularly on a hot-button issue like this, shows a real lack of understanding about the issue. It also misunderstands the competence of the bad-actors who want to take advantage of this seismic shift in the internet--if they started right away, everyone would known why and how to fix it. If they hold off and do it slowly over a few years, everyone will be too busy playing Pokemon and wondering what the Kardashians are up to now to notice.
  16. I had very good luck with a TP link unit, and a friend is using them with success now. Powerline kits are altogether dependent on the type and quality of your home's wiring, so there is always going to be some variability in quality of performance. They're a great option if you can't run wires though. Would strongly recommend TP link.
  17. Howdy All, I am looking to build a multipurpose server (on a budget). I am looking for it to be able to handle the following: 1. Run an ownCloud NAS to replace my current Dropbox account; 2. Run a Plex Media Server; and 3. Run Ubiquiti's UniFi software for my home network. I don't know how powerful I really need this thing to be, and I am concerned about building a machine that is too weak or too powerful (i.e. expensive). Price to performance is a high priority for this build. Very open to suggestions and any experience you folks have had with similar setups. Thanks
  18. They are both from reputable brands, have the same wattage, have black modular cables, and 80+ gold efficiency. Honestly, if you're not in love with one brand over the other or the aesthetics of one does't fit your build better, buy whichever is cheaper IMO.
  19. Perhaps I'm just confused, but... couldn't you just plug the monitors you want assigned to each card... into the display ports on that card?
  20. Where did your version of windows come from? I'm wondering if there is some preconfigured security stuff shutting down ports or something
  21. Have you tried building the PC outside of the case? If a stand-off is misplaced and touching something it’s jot supposed to, this could happen. Build it all on the mobo box and power it on with a screwdriver. And while it’s not common, it’s possible to get two bad parts in a row. I bought a dishwasher last year. Had two DOA and everyone thought it had to be me. Sure enough, it was a bad batch and a new SN series solved it for the third try.
  22. Are you running any sort of VPN that might be configured goofily?
  23. Derp, it was 115 F not C, my bad, so 46 C (about the temp of the water per Corsair's software) Yeah, I'm submitting a ticket with Corsair now. Hopefully they don't wont to be dicks about cross shipping (not having the computer for that long would be a deal-breaker and would mean I'd have to buy a cooler something to get me through) Thanks for your help homie
  24. So, I feel slight vibrating, but I feel the same if I touch any part of the computer. I'm not sure if it's the pump or just a combination of the fans (which I have turned way back down for this) and the HDD. Is there a way to differentiate? Should it be obviously vibrating more at the pump (because that would suggest a broken pump)? If it is the pump: would Corsair's software still be reading it at 3060 rpm? would the top hose still get warm (convection perhaps)? would the temps still remain "ok" (i.e. enough to not force me to shut it down with light use (watching videos and typing this response))? And yeah, I'm going to order some now
