I restart my PC a couple times a year (outside of windows updates).  Power consumption is minimal when asleep, and I think I'm more likely to wear out my power button from nightly power cycling than my components from running all the time.  
 
But now I'm folding all night anyway, so shutting down is a non-starter for me.

Acutally in canada you pay a bit more taxes and have national healthcare. In America your insruance company you pay for ever and ever might decide they dont want to pay the bill. So then you get stuck with a $60,000 bill because they refuse to pay. They always find a loop hole. Thats CAPTIALSIM gone wrong. People having to pay out of pocket $600 a month for life saving and required drugs, Thats CAPTIALSIM gone wrong.
 
My adivice from when you get off the boat/plane and enter this country, go to the store and get some KY lube, your going to want it. Because you will find out really quick that the bright light of New york and DC are just an illusion in most of the country. We are a broken down and limping. Im waiting for November when all hell breaks loose and the comments start to fly, because one group of people is going to be angry and another group is going to be very happy, and we are all going to be screwed in the end.

If they hold off and do it slowly over a few years, everyone will be too busy playing Pokemon and wondering what the Kardashians are up to now to notice.

This. I already posted an article which showed DECREASED investment of infrastructure and slowing down or halting of rollouts of new infra following NN's repeal, I would like OP's date on when we'll start seeing this increased investment promised.

I've noticed that they are basically non-existent right now, and everything is insanely expensive--way more than even two months ago.

I have an NZXT AIO and I have never had in issue in the ~18 months I have been running it. They aren't bad, but the new pretty ones are over priced.  I'd probably go with corsair if I were buying one now.

Hey everyone, I am new to this site and thought I'd share a wall mounted build I completed last year. These 3 PCs (36cores) work together to render out images. I am currently replacing my oldest rig (my main) with a 7980xe build to make 48 cores total.

I'd consider something like this for gaming.  The processor is weaker, but it should be enough, and it's a lot cheaper.  The extra cash went to more ram, a better video card, and a M.2 boot drive.

Here's a quickie-translate put over in PCPcartpicker.
I'd recommend changing some things like this (link)
Changed 1500x to 1600. 1600 comes with a stock cooler (that is okay) and is a better cpu. Only costs ~$10 more when including the CPU cooler replaced 256 SSD with 128 SSD and 1TB HDD. You could put some games and OS on SSD and everything else on HDD. Changed the 1050 to 1050TI. Costs $40 more, but doubles the vram. If you don't want to push the budget, you could still change from 1500x to 1600 and only going with a 1TB HDD. That should get you down to about $600.
