jarmenti got a reaction from ZackCodesAI in Is it okay to buy this laptop?
sadly it looks like where he is, the 5000 gaming doesn't include a 1050ti, and of course the 7000 doesn't offer an i5 option!, where as here in north america both options are available. I got the 7000 gaming with an i5 and 1050ti as it was the best option!

Do they have i5-7300hq equipped options in India? The 7700HQ will be bottlenecked by the 1050, so might as well get the slower i5 and save some money (or a laptop with i5 and 1050ti)

I'm trying to say that upgrades are not impossible but I know that a laptop with a mxm socket costs more than 1000$.

I'm fully aware those machines are upgradeable, but they are far from the price point that the OP could afford , since he wasn' able splurge the extra hundred or so to get the 1050TI option in the dell. I'm just saying you won't find a "NEW" laptop in the 1k price range with MXM upgradeable graphics, that isn't beefy! and buying a used 2 yr old model, and then buying a pascal mxm card on top of this, still puts the cost up there!

This is a form factor, not related to speed

No. PCIe is the communication link. That's like saying Ethernet or Wi-Fi is a form factor.

A form factor is the shape of the physical piece of hardware.

I make my own colloidal silver. Any concerns about using it in a liquid cooling loop as a way to kill off pretty much anything?

They include the fill. We needed ~20 and it was literally cheaper to buy 50 from a volume seller in China than to buy 20 locally.

So we figured we'd just flip the remaining ones at about the price we paid.

To the people insinuating that we're gouging people plz show me the listing for where you can buy something like this cheaper. They're really nice.

No they wont. I would get a $30 license key as well. I did it and it worked great.

Paying $100 for Windows 10 is insane. Ads, forced updates and software, meta data collection, and its a buggy and untested OS. Not worth it imo.

580 is only a higher clocked 480 with only multi-monitor power consumption reduced, that's really all that differs the two

jarmenti got a reaction from Changis in Do I need exact same GPU for SLI?
Definitely will see better performance upgrading to a TI instead of adding a 2nd 1080. Sure the sli 1080's may perform better in sli optimized games,... but upgrading to a TI will improve performance across the board, and is definitely cheaper than the cost of 2 regular 1080's. You should be able to sell your card used for near retail price, since the gpu market is silly right now!

I still say the caps lock is about as useless.. still trying to figure out an example where you'd even use caps lock in a captcha or link, vs simply using the shift key. Caps locks main use is to turn off caps lock when it is accidentally turned on. LOL

jarmenti got a reaction from JahtanI in Need more detail on how to build an AMD pc.
step 1... don't drop the cpu... bent pins on amd = puckered bunghole pin straightening...   I also had a friend who didn't lift the latch on the cpu socket and just hammered it in there, also bending pins... and the most epic fail was another friend that failed to use the motherboard standoffs on his case, and screwed the board directly to the sheetmetal. needless to say the computer didn't boot and the motherboard was toast!

caps lock is the stupidest key on the keyboard... can we just get rid of it? lol WHO WANTS TO YELL TYPE ALL THE TIME ANYWAY! ahahha

My keyboard doesn't have the traditional led indicators, instead the key glows up when caps lock is activated. The thing is that I have never legitimately used caps lock so it is never glowing and it can look somewhat odd.

Check out autohotkey, you might be able to remap the capslock key to an inverted capslock key.

Not exactly. Intel needs competition in the space. They're been doing research for years, but never had a force behind them pushing for the use of the research.

No, it's more like 5-25%, depends on the game.
Both are equally "good" value to me, but the 1060 3gb seems odd to be paired with a 1600x. The smaller VRAM might be an issue if you turn Anti-Aliasing up. However, some apps for graphics design support CUDA acceleration, so Nvidia's card will be faster. How much does 1060 6gb start?
