  1. About a month ago I built my new computer, and recently (but not all of the time) I have been having BSOD's after I wake my computer from sleeping and I am unsure of the cause. The BSOD error messages aren't the same the most recent one was "Bad Pool Caller", another said "Kernel Security Check", and from right now those are the only two I can remember. Would it be likely that I have a bad driver? And if so, would anyone know the best way to try and narrow it down to what that driver might be? It hasn't happened every time I wake the computer up, but it has started happening more and more often, and it's quite annoying. I had my XMP profile enabled, and I just disabled it, but I wouldn't have thought that would have been the issue. If it was, then maybe it's fixed, but I thought that something driver related might be the cause. My PC specs are listed down below in case you need any reference to what the components are. CPU: 9900K GPU: Asus Strix GTX 1080 RAM: 64GB 3200MHZ Corsair Vengence RGB Motherboard: Asus Z390A PSU: Seasonisc Focus Plus Platinum Heatsink: Corsair Hydro H150i PRO 360mm OS SDD: Samsung 970 NVMe 500GB Media Drive: Samsung 970 NVMe 1TB Cache Drive: Samsung 860 SATA 250GB Gaming Drive: Samsung 860 SATA 500GB
  2. I am not sure if I can explain this correctly, but maybe a video about the World Clock, and maybe why, and how, for devices to be synced properly to the correct clock / time zone / etc.
  3. I am currently in college for my AS Degree in Network Systems Engineering Technology, and we use UCertify. During the exam this question was asked, and it states that A/V related content is less Processor demanding than using Graphic Design applications such as Photoshop or Illustrator. Now I'm a Video Editor myself, and I can say for a fact that this is definitely wrong, but I wanted to expand out and start asking people what they thought of this? Do you think that any of these are truly wrong? I always thought that A/V and Graphics Design Workstations were one of the same.
  4. No I do not. Just my Razer DeathAdder, My IBP Mech Keyboard, and Turtle Beach P11's. Originally I had my AG06 Yamaha USB interface plugged in, but it kept tripping out on me so I stopped plugging it in to my desktop.
  5. Recently I've been having this really odd issue where randomly my mouse and keyboard will basically disconnect, and I will hear the Windows sounds start doing the link ding sounds it does whenever you unplug a device. Whenever it does it the RGB lights on my Deathadder and Mech keyboard turn off like they have been unplugged, then after a few seconds they re detect and start working again. Is this an issue where I could ship my motherboard back? I have recently updated my Bios to help with better support for Memory, and devices and what not for Windows 10 since I am running on X99 (5820K) which is a few years old now. I have called Asus, and my only issue is I need my PC and I have no where to put my components if I had to dismantle my computer. Anybody have a clue as to what could cause this? Also, it's not just my Mouse and Keyboard it does this too, it can be whatever is connected to my desktop but typically that is all that's plugged in. Yes I have tried different Ports on my Motherboard and typically I run across the same exact problem sooner or later.
  6. I'm a certified video editor in Adobe Premiere Pro, and I am wanting to learn to memorize more and more keyboard shortcuts to speed up my editing times. Does anyone know a brand of Keyboard Skins or Keyboard Covers that I could buy or make DIY for my Laptop so I could give myself a way to have easier access to shortcuts. My laptop is a Gigabyte P55v7 if you need a reference.
  7. My best comparison isn't really to use these websites. I typically get a general idea of what the specs listed are, not what they claim rather but what the listed specs for the actual processors and then compare via Paper Listed specs, then take it online and see how the benchmarks come out from other users.
  8. I'm looking to find other people who might own a Laptop equipped with an I7-7700HQ. I've got the Gigabyte P55v7, which has an I7-7700HQ / GTX 1060 6GB / 16GB RAM. Now from what I have been seeing, IDLE temps for this processor span between 40's to high 50's. I'm getting anywhere between 50 - 60 IDLE and for a Laptop (I'm not as experienced with Laptops) if these Temps are considered safe. I haven't tested this current model as I just got it back after going through RMA with another, but suggestions? I am currently undervolting -125. I do have a Laptop cooling pad, and some extra cooling. I'm more interested in knowing if these Temps are considered "safe".
  9. This guy has the right idea. Good thing I made sure to read the comments before going out of my way to explain the differences in headphones, sound stage, etc.
  10. I wish I could just travel over to LMG to be apart of the whole thing. But I do appreciate you finding that out! I figured it'd be a nice topic to bring up.
  11. I'm not disagreeing with that whatsoever, I'm just saying that from the way my buddy had his living room rig setup it was actually quite surprising how comfortable it was to play on.
  12. Do you have a suggestion as to what External Enclosure would work? I'd assume a USB 3.0 / 3.1 Enclosure would work the best.
  13. That's obvious. Maybe I should have specified recommendations on brands rather then specs for the hard drive. My fault.
  14. Obviously without spending the proper amount of money you're not going to get a piece of equipment suitable for ones needs. I'm looking for a Portable hard drive to help store Media, and possibly be used as an editing drive. It's obvious that SSD's are the #1 choice, but portable SSD's aren't cheap. I'm not looking to spend hundreds of dollars however if I find a sale or deal in the near future I could jump at the opportunity. The type of work I usually do Motion Graphics (AE) Intro's / Cinematic (AE) Music Videos / Short Films (PR) Highlights (PR) That's not all of the span of what I do in Premiere Pro and After Effects, just a short sum so you know what I'm looking for and what at a good price could benefit me for now. If in the future I make more money to allow me to get better products I will, but keep in mind that I am not looking to spends lots of money. Also I only need a single drive for the moment. Suggestions?
