  1. What do you bigger guys buy for a PC chair, that is cheap? I'm not exactly big myself 200lbs, but I like to date bigger girls who always bend my damn computer chair! Even though that might seem funny, I'm serious on same notation lol. Disregard the "LOL" if it took away my seriousness I tend to always buy that same pleather 50dollar pc chair, you see at Walmart for the last decade.
  2. BF4's fault.... I also on a rare occasion get a memory leak, then performance goes to a crawl, memory usage 100% with 8gigs of ram. I also cannot access my options in BF4 without the game crashing. Due to the patch that introduced Mantle.... Some say to actually disable any type of on board Video you may have, including ones on CPU. This did not work for me(disabled thru bios). Worked for others. I gave up.... I can run the game in x86 via properties, then it works fine. But not end result I wanted. Slap stick janky programming of BF4 is to blame....
  3. I dove straight back into computers last November. Turned my old rig into a HTPC of sorts and built myself a New rig. Tablet, laptop, 3 desktops, iphone, and 2 Tv's all connected together. I am happy with the purchases. I just do not see what I want though. Hard to explain.... I do not see content worthy of my new computer. Everything I mean EVERYTHING could have been played just fine and dandy on my old rig(now my HTPC). Then the flavor of games is so remarkably stale.... Whens the last time a game fully grabbed you? like that one game did in your teens?(I sorta relate it to my first HIGH, for I will never re obtain that) The one that pulls on your emotions and has you IN THE GAME, instead of "This is how game mechanics work" so instead of blindly playing the game, you know instead what to expect of what can be done(lost your innocence). Or games that hold your hand so tightly, that you cannot mess up.... Where has that love and passion I had gone? Last game to sorta get this out of me, was and is DayZ.... It does not do this for me anymore though, for I know and understand the game mechanic now. So now I'm sitting and playing "Age of Mythology" from what 2002? on a "can play" anything out PC..... Just seems flipping sad. Or all the games I've bought in the last 3 months, all of them to never be played more then 20mins. Talking big name games on Steam. None of them capture my attention. I find more fun in Age of Mythology and flippin BattlefieldHeroes..... Which is just sad to me for some reason, as if Im embarrassed to say so. I want my answer to be my BF4, my Bioshock, my Farcry3, but nope... I have no clue where my geekness has gone. For Im starting to like mechanical things compared to electronics. Might be no content for my electronics. Then the content for mechanical items is myself... I don't have a clue and I'm sure Im not the only old-time gamer here, who may feel this way. Where has the innovation gone? Why is it we have "Next-Gen" consoles and I still see last gen....(Old ass console hardware aside.... running on the feel not the fact). Occulus Rift cannot come soon enough..... I'm chasing that first high and its winning not I..... Anybody have some drugs I could try?
  4. I've bought a Viao with BIOS password locked and windows7 locked. You will not get in the bios, if it has a password. At least without tricking Sony to give you access code, which I couldn't without receipt of original owner. That bios password is stored on chip, you cannot clear the bios of that password, it is always there. Then there is a boot option for those. I think it was f10 or f11 during boot, been 2 years.... That allowed me to pick DVD to boot from and install windows from disc. Otherwise it was dead in the water. I tried taking out the HDD and installing on another similar platform, no dice... Easier to do the boot option anyway outside of bios. I have no input on your monitor troubles though.
  5. Super glue most likely is not going to work. That's why I said a type of epoxy. Then use a firmer type of paper between the metals, this makes the adhesive stick better. If you use a drill. Take note of the chuck. Then dial it down so it breaks(as in stops drilling) by your hand holding the chuck. Then try to drill the screw, if the chuck breaks then dial it up 1 number. Repeat till its good. This will save your hand from getting twisted, then will help you go slowly. Will also stop it from drilling harder stuff than what your drilling, which for a laptop probably is not much compared to that screw. I'd buy a cheapo like a ryobi or black and decker, corded versions. Unless you want a cordless. Simply cheaper for corded, then if your not going to use the drill a lot, it truly doesn't matter if its corded.
  6. Look up methods to remove broken bolts. Involves drilling the screw/bolt. Well I guess someone already linked that.... Hrm well try using a small flat head screwdriver of solid metal(as in a nice brand name one) so to be somewhat stronger metal than the screw. Then use a rubber mallet or some type of shock absorbing hammer, then simply mar a slit on the screw head. Then you can try to use it to screw it off. But I'd step it up some... Such as an epoxy of sorts, the trick is to use a small somewhat firm piece of paper between the glue and screw. Then have that attached to whatever your going to use that best fits the screw you marred with a slit. Best Idea I can come with without looking at it. Could also mar the sides of the screw if possible, then try pliers to screw it off once you marred it to not so circle like. The thing is you need proper tools. Makeshift tools is probably why your in this boat to begin with. So take heed if your going to "ghetto" it again(to fix what is broke), if that was the case to begin with. Do this from your own decision, for it could damage things.... Then the glue/epoxy thing, I'd do that as a last step or the drill if you find one small enough. Normally 1/8th be smallest in store, might be able to find smaller online or at a MAJOR hardware store.
  7. I've played the waiting game already for the 280x/290's. If I wait for the new Nvidia cards, then I will be in the same boat awaiting AMD's response. I can understand doing this once, far as the wait. But it will end up being a never ending cycle, at some point you must just buy. Then both these manufacturers are pretty good at, not dropping prices of older GPUs. Which I feel is more reason for the refreshes of GPU's instead of new ones. Yeah I think Im just going to save a hundred bucks and buy a 760-2gb instead of the 770. If Im already satisfied with a 6790 game wise, then Im sure a 760 would make me happy. Thanks guys, for helping me make up my mind.
  8. I'd take out the GPU and run the onboard video and then those benchmarks, see if it still crashes. If no crashes, then I'd focus on the GPU for I know thats the issue. Could be something else entirely.
  9. I see no point in buying a AMD gpu that was a hundred dollars or more cheaper a month ago. I'd seriously wait till the market settles or buy Nvidia at that price range, for gaming at least. The 280x went from 300 to 400+, which is 33%+ increase in price.... True fact a 290(non X version) retail debuted at 400bucks. Not the price you see now, which is said to be due to bitcoin miners buying out the stocks. When you slip into the 300-400 dollar range. Due to the price jumps, Nvidia is the only sane choice at the price range. I'm not sure about the 500dollar range. Check it yourself, then disregard about any review for a AMD card that is over a month old, for it is not taking the new price into consideration. Or simply equate that in yourself. But if that doesn't bother you. I'd go with the 290(not the X version) hands down.
  10. Been waiting on my GPU purchase since September 2013. Waited for 280x to come out, just to decide I wanted to go Nvidia. Just to decide to go with AMD again, till the price jumps(AMD currently out of the question). I was aiming at a GTX 770 2-gb version(budget around 350, less is better). But since I've been using my old GPU since I already bought and built the rest of my rig. It's a Raedon 6790. The problem I'm having is, that this 6790 plays any game I throw at it medium to max settings. Sure some things could be better, but are they worth 350 bucks better? Playable to me is never dropping below 30fps, as in the lowest acceptable number. Not my average fps. Basically I need a GPU for my HTPC, was going to throw in my 6790 for that task. Then buy newer for my just built rig. If that wasn't the case I'd probably just stay with the 6790, till it couldn't play a game at decent settings. But I still need a GPU for my HTPC... So I'm now considering buying lower end GPU's. Say a GTX 760 or even lower(I'm fixed on Nvidia, I dont want to even bother with AMD anymore). So if you were in my shoes. What would your 2-cents to this and which path would you take? With whatever options you think of, not limited to what I said besides Nvidia only. Thanks. I play at 1920x1080. Single monitor or TV. Current System specs: i5 4670k 8gig ddr3 120gb Samsung evo SSD 2tb SSHD seagate 3tb WD Win8
  11. I don't see the point at all. Its not a value when you want more and decide to buy a GPU instead of using the APU. Would cost more to do that, than it would to just buy better equipment at first.
  12. I'm game. Thats main thing that deters me from bf4, is not having solid people to play with. Battlelog name "Novas0line" that second o is a zero. Or shoot a teamspeak address you use normally and I'll pop in. I also live in Ohio, which is nice ping for most populated areas of Canada. Played BF series since bf1942 release. I skipped badcompany series.
  13. I had issues with payday2. Not the same as your friends. But with a AMD GPU, if I had forced AA/AF(Thru eyefinity) it would make the game slowly glow white untill I could not see anything or play. Turning it off, made it playable again. Probably not going to help you, but maybe? But it does showcase bad programming in my eyes. Since its only game I have that does this, I lean on blaming the developers of payday2. Maybe the jump to desktop is because of a firewall pop up, spyware program, or antivirus? Quite a few of my games will crash if I have a pop up, while the game is loading still(or if i alt+tab during loading). In the same fashion you described "Back to desktop, game still loading and sound still playing. But cannot see game when clicked on, just black screen with sound". But that doesnt seem like it would work, since the game works when he verifies install. Sorry I can't be of more help.
  14. VIZIO - M-Series - 50" Class Copy paste made my font huge. Im to lazy to fix it. But hey, Im not to lazy to type about it .... Anyway. You're not going to find a better deal with this feature set on a TV. Even if it was black friday.... I own it and its beautiful. Does not have a vga-dsub15 though, which I think you should move away from anyway. They also have a 55" and 60" version. Im very impressed with the 3d. But it was the 240hz that I truly wanted. Which doesnt really work for games, unless you want slight input lag. But for 3d and movies, its so butter smooth. But deal wise without being on sale? nothing beats it, hell even tvs on sale dont compare. I hawked Tv's for a solid 3months up to black friday. But Im American. Your prices may differ. Best Buy sells it.
