Everything is fine atm. So it's hard to tell but from the past few times opening the case, the one tube was hot and the block on the cpu was hot. I don't recall the rad being hot. I think I would remember that. Almost positive it wasn't though.

So the short of it. While sitting with chrome open with a few tabs and a video playing, the cpu is idling between 60 to 70 degrees. Opened the case, checked the mount, reapplied paste, everything looked fine. Couple days later it starts going to 70 degrees while web browsing. Repeat above. Then it happens again. Repeat all that stuff. So now the long of it. Parts CPU - 5820k (not oc'ed) Cooler - h100i with NF-F12 noctua fans (rad is at the top of the case and the fans are pulling air through the rad and out the case) mobo - Asus Sabertooth X99 Thermal Paste - MASSCOOL Shin-Etsu Thermal Interface Cooling Material G751 Room temp is about 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Computer as a whole is 1 year 9 months old. Normally the temps for web browsing are about 38-40c. Gaming and vid editing it goes to about 65-70. That's if its a demanding/unoptimized game. I'm using AI Suite for the fan control. The fans are kicking up as the cpu heats up. This is what alerted me to the cpu temps the first time because they rarely have to kick up to 1500rpms like they were. After I reapplied the paste and the temps would spike again the fans would rev up. While playing PUBG they would keep the cpu at about 75c but would be at 2000rpms. My guess is that this might be a problem with the cooler. Maybe the pump isn't flowing well or the coolant went south. When the idle/light load gets really hot, the tubes are vibrating like theyre moving water but one is pretty hot. I'm thinking maybe the process of bending the tubes while replacing the thermal paste might have helped a flow problem because after it would be fine for a couple days after getting new paste. Am I in the right ballpark? Any further troubleshooting advice before I grab a cheap air cooler and rma the current cooler?
