  1. I want to dual boot WIndows 10 and Manjaro. I have windows 10 already installed. I wanted to know if should delete the windows boot manager partition and set it to /boot/efi ? Or should I make set the /boot/efi mount point to another partition entirely?
  2. I looked through the whole forum for this ROM, didn't find anything resembling my problem.
  3. Lol I'm not that dumb. It was downloaded from the pixel experience ROM official website. Here's the thread: here.
  4. I tried to install the latest Pixel Experience ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Exynos. Everything went well and seemed to function perfectly, except that the WIFI refused to turned on. I tried both the regular and the plus variant of the ROM. When I tried to turn it on it just said that its turning on then just switched back to WIFI off after a few seconds. I installed the unofficial Lineage OS 17.1 ROM and everything is functioning fine right now. However I prefer the Pixel Experience ROM and would love if someone figured out a way to make the WIFI work. I have commented on the official XDA thread of the Pixel Experience ROM for this device but so far there is no reply.
  5. A 2070S should be plenty fine for 1080p 75hz for the next few years, especially as things like DLSS mature.
  6. I want to install manjaro to a 500GB external HDD, so I can use it as a secondary OS. I have managed to install manjaro onto the hard drive using the erase all option in the manjaro installer. However when I try to boot into it says "error attempt to read or write outside of disk 'hd0' entering rescue mode". After seeing this I tried plugging the drive into the internal sata slot of the laptop and then boot from it, this worked perfectly fine. How do I get Manjaro to boot off of the external drive? Sorry if I don't know a lot about this stuff I'm just trying to get into it, Anthony has managed to convince me.
  7. Also will filling the second memory slot with another 8GB yield better fps in valorant?
  8. I got a HP Elitebook Folio 9470m (i5-3437U, currently 8GB DDR3 single channel RAM, no dedicated GPU). Should I repaste the CPU, I'm pretty sure the thermal paste is currently just the stock one. I currently get around 65C CPU temp when just watching a few youtube videos. While it doesn't seem to thermal throttle according to aida64 it can still get pretty hot, like too hot to touch. Will repasting it actually make a difference in my thermal performance. If I do i would use Cooler Master MasterGel Regular as that's the only one readily available here. I tried undervolting it but then discovered its not supported on intel processors older then 4th gen. Pls if you have any other tips for cooling (other than obvious stuff like cleaning and making sure its on a flat, hard surface) feel free to inform my dumbass of them. Edit: Also according to task manager the CPU often goes to and stays at 2.65GHz even though the turbo is only 2.4Ghz
  9. Personally I'd go for the ROG X570-E Gaming cause it has built in WiFi and I do take my PC with me sometimes when I travel and an ethernet port isn't always available. The E also has more power stages and I'd do some overclocking, keep in in though that this doesn't necessarily mean you will get better overclocks. It really does depend on what you plan to do, if you think that you will definitely upgrade in the future then i think you should stick to the X570 if you got the budget. You might also want to look at the LAN capabilities on the motherboards.
  10. ill look into it, would have preferred something with a GUI but i'll work with what i can get
  11. I got a real shitstain of a laptop (HP 9470m, Intel i5-3437U, integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics, 8GB RAM) but it can run valorant at 40-50fps with everything at low or off. I want to know if I can setup something that will automatically turn off unnecessary background applications/processes and then automatically relaunch them, so that maximum performance can be utilized for the game. Right now I have to manually turn them off, this can usually get me around 5-10 fps more.
  12. The laptop also tends to heat up a lot since this begun. Even when there are not very CPU or GPU intensive processes running, not even Chrome
