Build that fit in a hand carry suitcase
Settlerteo replied to poole's topic in New Builds and Planning
Second best choice would be a laptop with lots of ram and a good cpu along with an external enclosure for gpu like the Gigabyte Aorus GPU Box. -
Build that fit in a hand carry suitcase
Settlerteo replied to poole's topic in New Builds and Planning
I don't think there's a better option than the Nuc there along with a portable gaming monitor(i ve seen them at massdrop from time to time). I mean you can build a desktop in a suitcase as a "case" but i really don't know if they will let you pass through security check no matter how well you ll try to explain that this is a desktop not anything else(i.e. you know what i mean). And if you travel a lot that would be so tiring and annoying. -
What language for making windows applications
Settlerteo replied to Snifferdog3's topic in Programming
Well i am not gonna vote in the poll. I will advise you this. If you want to just make one program use whatever you want. If you are into programming and maybe thinking working as a software engineer start with C. -
What language for making windows applications
Settlerteo replied to Snifferdog3's topic in Programming
Grab some books like "C programming language", "C in depth" and "C programming: a modern approach" and prepare for some really long long nights. I used to like that in the past. Now i am used to falling into that shit called php -
What language for making windows applications
Settlerteo replied to Snifferdog3's topic in Programming
I totally agree with you. I was the first one to tell him to write in the language more fitted for what he wants to do. And i also wrote that he can write in Assembly. No one is deciding for him. I really like C, well much more than C++ but i wouldn't use it unless it was the only option for me or the best option for me. For example there are still projects that are better written in Cobol nowadays. -

C is easier than C++. You re kidding right? Have you written anything in C and in C++. C++ came out to make life easier for people who wrote in C at the time. -

And i quote. C is a great language to get into programming. You will learn so many things and you will have a very strong programming base knowledge which will make learning a new tool easier. But and this is a big but. C is old. It's good to start but not so good to continue unless you don't have an option. For example i currently write in CA Gen which is total shit but it's the best tool for what the company i work for needs to develop its product. C# will make your life easier. Visual studio will help you so much with debugging and a lot of issues which would be a pain in the ass in C. It doesn't work with hardware? Really? where do you read these articles. Almost every new software backend code for windows is written in C#. And you have microsoft support, you have visual studio. I don't know why this is a debate even more for an in experienced user like you. Wanna write in Assembly or C? Yes you can but do you want to make life easier or harder? -

Looking to upgrade my i7 7700k?
Settlerteo replied to TakenCrowm's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
It is too soon indeed. If you continue playing at 1920*1080, you may upgrade your card in a couple of years and after 3-5 years start thinking about upgrading the platform(meaning cpu, motherboard and more probably ram too). My advice is based on gaming only and not thinking that you re running heavy cpu/gpu workloads. -
There might be a chance that something is loosen at the cpu cooler. Try to take it out and re attach it
-
No. That's a headphone output.

what programing language should you start with

C. Just C and then everything would seem easy. -
Is NZXT G12 worth it for RX 580
Settlerteo replied to zedsdeath's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
For a RX580? I don't think so. Of course you get to keep g12 and the aio and use it in a future card but notice that you re spending minimum 70-80 €. I suppose that you have that gigabyte card right? Maybe the accelero is a nice option although i ve never tested it.- 6 replies

As other members mentioned above it is almost the same as if you had all these running in the background. The exception is that when driving more than one displays you re using more VRAM to drive those extra pixels. So if you re running out of VRAM this might cause stuttering or even crashing.

looking for suggestions for a gpu upgrade from my EVGA 660ti SC
Settlerteo replied to Flameboi900's topic in Graphics Cards
These are great options but i don't think he will be able to fully utilize them in most scenarios and probably by the time he upgrades the rest of the system these cards would need an upgrade too.- 12 replies

Settlerteo replied to Flameboi900's topic in Graphics Cards
Also try to fit 4 more gigs of Ram. It will help a lot and won't cost that much. If you can find the model of psu please provide it here.- 12 replies

Vega has HBM memory which is the future. That's why a radeon nano still performs better than a 1060 after all these years. It's just sad that AMD doesn't have the funds to develop HBM memory tech faster.
-
EXACTLY!!! Yup 560 is too much even if i love this Vega card. You can get from EVGAs Europe site rtx 2070 for 519 € including VAT.
-
Vega 64 of course. If you find the Sapphire one for the same amount of money go for that instead.

Got g12 and temps spike whenever I open a game
Settlerteo replied to Sdang2's topic in Graphics Cards
Is it just spikes? Or does the temperature stays high? Also check mounting of the g12 on your card. That might be the problem. -
You re exaggerating here. There are a lot non expensive units even in S tier. After all it's the core component of a computer. You re not purchasing a smartphone battery.

Should i buy a second hand 1080ti or new rtx 2070 for $100 difference?
Settlerteo replied to GGEND's topic in Graphics Cards
I can absolutely agree only on that phrase i quoted. It all depends(either in mining or gaming) but in most mining cases cards are undervolted. After all that's why i mentioned the warranty as well. -
Blue is pretty much ok for everyday stuff. If you want the best mainstream HDD my recommendations go like this: 1.WD Black or Red 2. Seagate Ironwolf 3. Toshiba X300
