  1. It's much easier than building your own(you can also take ideas on something you will build from scratch in the future) and of course you don't have to mod or do anything at all to glass parts. Then again it's your choice, do whatever makes you feel better.
  2. Well a different choice would be to go for a (one or two of them) Sandy Bridge like xeon 2670 used from ebay(which you can find at a very low cost) and build your system around that. For PSU and since you don't need graphics power so i assume a low tier card with low wattage consumption would be your choice, then i d say go for any Tier 1 (550-750 Watt) psu you like.
  3. This really doesn't make sense at all. Computer is not a console(it's like you try to compare a kitchen to a toaster, there is no comparison between them), although it can be used as a gaming machine and give you a far better gaming experience than consoles cause of it's hardware firstly and most importantly cause of it's software. My advice about the case is that you should buy a good case and if you want your personal touch to it, then mod it.
  4. Software Engineer, banking and financial.
  5. It's a really different tax system(even from country to country inside Europe), wages are also very different along with life cost so you can't really make a comparison. I experience the same problem as a European although we can order with no import fees from China which is confusing.
  6. Pairing an i9 with a gtx 1050 would be very odd. In my opinion it would be better to get a used card(like a 780ti/980/980ti/r9 390x/r9 nano,r9 fury) and wait till prices go lower for an RTX card or probably a new Vega card, as i myself wait for.
  7. RX 580 cause it's newer, has more Vram and runs cooler in most cases.
  8. Never push to the limits these kind of PSUs... so i suggest not to.
  9. It depends on the games. It's not a "gaming" cpu therefore you may not be able to achieve 60 fps in AAA titles and the gpus you re going to buy are not also capable of pushing 60 fps to most AAA titles. Although you will be able to achieve at least 30 which is playable.
  10. 780 is faster than 380x, but as i said before 380x has a better driver support and if we talking about a sapphire one, it has a great cooling system too.
  11. S9+ is a great phone and overall a better choice than the 6t. But and it's a huge but, i value so much the software and how oneplus phones tend to work through the time that OP 6t would be an obvious choice for me. I currently own a OP 5 and will maybe change it for the next OP, if they keep up the good work.
  12. Just saw the chart. Go for the 380x or 780. Although 380x has better driver support than the 780 and 970.
  13. Is it Mordor or Narnia? P.S r9 270x is a good choice for that amount of money.
  14. Seems like Intel fanboys are getting "Appled" as time passes.
  15. @A Silver everything @r2724r16 said above plus i find TN monitors much better for reading and programming(much less eye strain due to their worse colour reproduction). Response time doesn't matter at all, you along with many people confuse it with input lag.
  16. not really that big of an improvement over 1 fan for that cpu. I m still with the aircoolers in your case.
  17. you know another option you may have is Massdrop. From time to time they drop 17 inch 1920*1080 monitors which look pretty decent like their last G-story 17" 120 Hz portable monitor. I really can't think of something better.
  18. you are limited by space. Just accept that you will stay with the 1024p. I have an LG L1900R TN monitor as a second screen and it's still amazing for reading, coding or gaming.
  19. Hey, I studied computer information too so i hope that my advice helps. First of all i don't see any reason of going for dual system. Secondly you don't refer to any budget at all so i can assume what i m gonna propose you fits your budget. Thirdly, i really don't know what you mean by needing suggestions on hardware for encoding software. Please help me here. All in all for programming alone you need a good cpu which means anything above intel i5 8400, amd 2200g/2400g or r5 2600(all these cpus are also futureproof) will be more than enough. You also mention graphic design so maybe a discrete gpu would be a better choice than integrated graphics so i m gonna drop on the amd 2400g. Next the ram. 16 gigs would be more than enough. You also need a ssd so you can store all your compilers and any other software you use along with windows. I suggest 500 gigs and an HDD to keep your files. For the gpu i can't recommend anything cause we don't know the software you are going to use, but i am really positive about what tasks you re going to have so something like a rx 570/gtx 1050ti would be ok except you want it to be a gaming machine also. Also grab a good PSU from either one of the first/second or third tier here and you re good to go. Never heard of universities do that.
  20. Great brand, great TN monitor.
  21. I want multiple "Best answer" option on this post.
  22. Sometimes we apply some humour too with common sence.
