  1. Operating System Windows 10 Computer Specs (PSU, GPU, CPU, RAM, Motherboard) CPU: i7 4960X MOBO: ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition RAM: 64GB Dominator Platinum RAM 1866Mhz GPU(s): GTX 750/Titan Black (for testing) PSU: Corsair ax1500i and EVGA Supernova 750W Description of problem My computer will not boot up. It turns on and turns off againThe Q Code goes through a bunch of codes then the last 3 are: 79 and 9A right before going to 00 and turning off, then on again. The LED's go the following order: 1. DRAM_LED 2. CPU_LED 3. DRAM_LED 4. VGA_LED 5. CPU_LED then it turns off.The computer worked before I took it out of another system. Please help, I'm at a loss When this issue began March 12, 2018 (today) Recurring issue Yes Date of purchase N/A Under Warranty No Cause/Steps to recreate the issue Turn on the computer or use the DirectKey button to turn on the computer. What I've tried so far to resolve the issue Things I've tried - Swapped CMOS battery with one I know works - Cleared CMOS- Changed to BIOS 2 - 1 Stick of RAM- Switched GTX 750/Titan Black - EVGA 750W PSU and Corsair ax1500i - In case and outside of case - Reseated CPU and all RAM and changed slots of GPU - DirectKey - Pointing a heater at my PC for a bit ( Please help, I'm at a loss...
  2. Fixed... Some stupid bug in Nvidia Control panel kept showing 60Hz. Reinstalled drivers fixed it.
  3. Hello, I have two ASUS Strix GTX 1080s and three 165hz 1440p capable displays (over DP). ASUS opted for 2x DP + 2x HDMI + DVI-I instead of the usual 3x DP, so I cannot connect all three monitors to the 1st card over DP. My 3 monitors all require DP for 120/144/165hz and does not have HDMI 2.0. Because ASUS decided to use a two HDMIs, which cannot be converted to DP (smh... why), but you can the other way around, I can't get Nvidia Surround to run at 165hz (120/144hz is fine with me if that's possible). Nvidia control panel limits me to the lowest refresh rate out of all three, and won't output a signal to the 3rd display if I plug that into the 2nd card over DP. Is this supposed to be happening? I see people on other forums offering solutions or referencing Nvidia's setup guide on Nvidia surround but the OP does not reply to their success (or not). https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?92271-Triple-Monitor-Setup-Cannot-achieve-144Hz-on-third-monitor Thanks
  4. Please don't remind me haha. My 970 SLI actually worked fairly well (at least for me)... but they really seem to be phasing it out this time around. Really hope new games will support DX12 mGPU... I've got all these GPUs lying around, just mining rn.
  5. Ok wow I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get the original GTX 1080 driver installed. Windows kept automatically updating it. And performance jumped to 90FPS now, interesting. A single card can only get 70FPS in this driver... Oh well, I really can't complain about it I guess. Thanks, guys
  6. Thank you for the quick response. I will test the original driver for Witcher 3 though I am wondering if that will work with the GTX 1080 as that was not yet released back then? I'll do a little look around... perhaps the first GTX 1080 driver Unfortunately, rarely. In regular SLI mode, I notice almost no gains in any games I play (like Battlefield 1). Though when I turn on Nvidia surround, I do get very good scaling in Battlefield 1. Yeah, I got the 2 GTX 1080s before the GTX 1080Ti existed. I'll be sure to get a GTX 1180Ti next time around. But Witcher 3 is known to have fantastic SLI scaling, even across 3 or even 4 GPU's... at least that's how it was a year ago...
  7. Computer Type: Desktop GPU: 2x GTX 1080 8GB no OC (factory OCed by ASUS) CPU: Ryzen 7 1800X 4.0Ghz Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair VI Hero latest BIOS (3008) RAM: TridentZ RGB 32GB 3000Mhz (running 2800Mhz) Disk: Samsung Evo 850 1TB, 2x Samsung 850 500GB (RAID 0), 3x 2TB Seagate HDD (RAID 0). Game is on the hard drive RAID. PSU: EVGA 850 P2 Platinum 70.8A on 12V rail OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit clean install (1709 16299.125) GPU Drivers: 388.71 clean install Description of problem: No noticeable gains from SLI in Witcher 3 1440p. Everything set to max (no hairworks) and FPS stays around 80 with either 1 or 2 cards. Focus monitor set properly. Monitor supports GSync and 165Hz. Vsync is off. Both cards are being utilized in Task Manager (95% 1st, 85% 2nd) when in SLI. 100% utilization in 1st GPU when not in SLI but FPS is the same. 3 monitors connected to the first GPU. Troubleshooting: Set focus monitor on center monitor and I play using the center monitor. Clean installed the drivers. Used custom SLI profiles (0x280020F5, 0x280020F1, 0x280021F1). Set maximum performance and tried both SLI options in NVControl Panel (Force alternative frame 1 and 2). Thanks
  8. Yeah that sounds fine, you'll be happy with either option. So your deciding factors are: - Budget - Sound level - Cooling capacity/capability
  9. Well yeah, it costs $50 more because it is 280mm instead of 240mm, has better cooling than all of Corsair's 280mm AIO's, and has arguably the best aesthetics out of any AIO. As for Ryzen efficiency, I do agree on that. Though this still affects the sound level and system ambient temperature. That may affect the GPU temperatures and speeds as well as NVME drives. That depends on what the OP has. The s340 elite has mediocre exhaust configuration, it's better to go with a 280mm AIO in some scenarios. My friend owns the s340 elite and says that he struggles with the GPU fan noise from being suffocated in the case. He has a single 1080ti and a 1800x. YYMV
  10. I would recommend the X62 over the H100i, it cools better (newer pump), looks nicer, quieter, and I've heard a lot fewer horror stories from NZXT than Corsair regarding water coolers even though they both source them from Asetek.
  11. I have been getting system lag spikes on my system every few seconds. I can have almost nothing running and still lag periodically. I don't know how to troubleshoot this problem because it's so quick that Task manager doesn't really respond to it. All I can see is that every CPU core spikes in usage the same exact amount. I can be doing nothing and there would be a spike in all cores. Don't know what could be causing this... it's not happening on my laptop and I have even more applications and junk on there. i7 6700HQ on that system and Ryzen 1800x on this. No clue what is going on. It interrupts everything. Games would freeze for a few seconds, 3D programs would too, Photoshop stops responding few 20 seconds straight. I would use the brush tool once and undo then it would freeze. In the screenshots, you can ignore the regular ups and downs. It's the big spikes that show up across all cores that are the problem. Mouse and everything would stop periodically. Youtube would start buffering for 1 second sometimes as well. My internet is 150Mb/s down so that's not the issue at all. Update: Finally found the culprit: It's the "System" process apparently, it jumps super high for a short time and freezes a bunch of things. I don't know what is causing it and how to stop it from using so much resource randomly.
  12. Pretty straight forward like the title. I can't change many settings in Nvidia Control Panel because of this. I checked and it was not a virus. Followed instructions on the DllHost.exe virus removal and it couldn't detect that it was the malicious version of the DllHost.exe. Bitdefender also did not detect that it was either. Online searches show that Bitdefender does recognize this virus and will remove it, but it hasn't in this case. Not sure what's going on. Can't find it in processes in Task manager. You can find my specs below, though I do not think those are relevant to my problem really. SLI worked fine before, not sure what's going on now.
  13. Old thread but this was the first link I came across when I googled so I figured others would find the same thread. Here's one that works perfectly. Same length (17.5in) as the G810: https://www.pcgamingrace.com/collections/wrist-pads/products/glorious-wood-mechanical-keyboard-wrist-rest?variant=33500129870 Hope that helps.
  14. I’m looking for an AMP or DAC for my headphones. I’m looking at the Schiit Magni 2 and Modi 2 setup. My budget is those two combined, ~$240. I’m asking because my motherboard is the ASUS Crosshairs VI Hero which has a binned ALC 1220 DAC on there. It sounds impressively good as an onboard DAC so I’m wondering if I can just forgo the Schiit DAC and just get the AMP. The headphones itself is 45ohms so it’s pretty easy to drive anyways. Should I just get the Schiit amp, amp+dac, or a more expensive amp alone? Don’t need anything crazy just something good for the HE560. Thanks
