You could upgrade to a 2080 no problem, PCIe 2.0 x16 is no bottleneck for the 2080 - the things that could perhaps bottleneck it is the CPU speed and RAM speed, but it's probably better to just buy something proper now, than buying something meh now and something proper again later, saves you some money.

Not a lot of 775 boards were designed for overclocking, but most boards from brands like Asus, Asrock, or Gigabyte will be good options.

Asus P5Q variants, Asus P5E variants, Gigabyte EP45 variants (preferably UD3R/UD3P) should be the cheapest options. For Asus check if the board you are looking at is actually a P45 or x48 board (the name doesn't specify it all the time sadly)

Maybe a little research about the institution itself, sometimes they ask annoying questions about their history and stuff.
Also just be very confident during the interview and they will hire you.

I always research the company and try and figure out what they find important. I also like to find information on possible questions I might ask them in an interview. Honestly the question I got asked had little to do with the job itself but rather the typical interview questions like "what are your 3 greatest strengths and weaknesses". Or the "talk about a time you had to deal with conflict with another coworker and how you realoved it". I would honestly look up the generic interview questions and figure out what your response would be for the main ones. Also I would learn think about a way to show that you know something about their their school and show them that you are really interested in working thier. Well that's the interviewing basics I was fought by a good friend of mine. Helped me land my first job.

I have a PC with an Athlon 64 3000+ and 1GB of ram in it that I picked up for £10 off Facebook. Also have a HD 5970, a GTX 260, Dell Latitude C840 somewhere (couldn't find it for a pic), and a Core2Quad w/ mobo and  ram.

Sorry, I forgot about this thread. I wiped windows and installed new drivers and now it works. When my friend said that he's updated the drivers he hadn't removed the old ones and Windows was still just updating bad drivers, after the new ones were installed all was well. Thank you and sorry.

If you are on a phone line, you may need a second line.  Ask ISP what package they can offer.

Depends on where you live. More often than not you’d have to rent another modem and pay for an additional package within that modem too.
 
You may also be at the disadvantage of having issues with bottlenecking traffic depending on what other load you have running through the main connection into and out of your house as well. They may also charge you additionally if they have to run an additional a eparate line into your house for another modem if they determine the bottleneck is from their service to your house.
 
You should try updating your package so you have less additional fees for extra setups, calling a tech out to install various hardware that you may get charged extra for... etc etc.

You can. They would add a splitter and give you a 2nd modem and you would have to pay for a 2nd connection as well. 

Yeah, 80 PLUS ratings mean nothing. There are hundreds of crap units out there and lots have an 80 PLUS rating.
