  1. I knew that when optane launched it only supported one drive at a time. But according to their site, newer versions of the software allow a selected drive to be accelerated, meaning you can have multiple drives. Did I understand this right? https://www.intel.in/content/www/in/en/support/articles/000025074/memory-and-storage/intel-optane-memory.html This is a game changer, now I can have an ssd for boot and still have a large hdd with optane so my games are fast as well.
  2. I got the hyperx alloy pro (cherry mx red) like 2 weeks ago, great keyboard, never had a problem until like a dumb ass I swapped my spacebar from different keyboard to this just to try it out. It was extremely hard to get it off and I used too much force, and then the left side came out but the right didn't so I pulled again with even more force while only one side was connected and then it came out completely. Then when I swapped to my older spacebar, whenever I pressed the left corner of the spacebar, which I always do while gaming, there is a very noticeable squeak. I had two options, to send it for a replacement, but I was scared if I'll get a used piece, or fix it myself. I searched online and came across two very different infos, one site recommended against silicone lubes and recommended white lithium grease ( https://www.daskeyboard.com/blog/fix-that-squeaky-key-on-your-mechanical-keyboard/ ) then a subreddit ( https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/7x65wc/i_just_used_white_lithium_grease_on_my_mx/ ) and some other places had something about lithium grease being bad for plastics. Now I can buy both, but what is better?
  3. but it does reduce gpu boost auto overclocking, so do you recommend i go with the 1080ti mini even if it runs very hot?
  4. actually no, i want to get 144fps 1080p always for the next 2 years, and even the 1080ti cant do that in some games right now, if the game is completely maxed out
  5. i dont really care, i've been using a hdd all this time with no problems. And for gaming, optane really makes your hdd as fast as a ssd, I dont want to spend anymore
  6. So I am building a gaming PC for $2100 and after researching for a whole year and waiting for the next gen cards, this is the best gaming PC you can put together for my budget in my country right now (goddamn these taxes and shipping costs. You wanna hear something mind blowingly ridiculous? the 2080ti costs $1800 here, and its sold out... the iPhone Xs max? $2100 only lol) -2080 founders edition (before you say anything against it, I have a good reason for choosing a RTX 2080 and I'll explain it below) -i5 8400 (now this has been bothering me, will this bottleneck my gpu really badly? but I'm a bit tight on my budget to go for an 8600k, which costs $360 here and that doesn't include the cooler, it was only $263 before, then the Intel cpu shortage struck) -h370 aorus gaming 3 wifi rgb -no ssd, barracuda 2tb, will probably get optane 16 gig -cooler master mb500 with triple led fans -corsair tx650m 80+ plus gold, psu tier 2 mostly or tier 1 in some sites Now I did go through all the PSU tier list across the web, and this PSU is really good, and it's a lot cheaper at $90 compared to other good PSUs. So will this be enough for ray tracing? In most reviews, the total system consumed around 400-410 watts with a 2080 FE. So should I stick with this or should I go for 750w? psucalc calculated 443w for non overclocked pc, and 523w for a decent overclock. So now coming to the GPU, the cheapest 1080ti here is the zotac mini for $850~, which essentially is a crap card with a 1080 cooler strapped onto it running at 85°C on load, just like the MSI armor edition, which goes for $870~, and you know what the next cheapest card is? That's right, the 2080 FE coming in at $950, there's no other 1080ti cheaper than this and 2080 AIB cards start at $1025, now tell me, should I go with a loud 1080ti that runs on 85°C on load, and thus reducing lifespan, or a RTX 2080 that has DLSS (the most exciting feature) and ray tracing and performs a bit better, for a $100 more?
  7. lol, so what about a 1080ti in q300p, will that get hot?
  8. ok, then just imagine the case with a 1080ti, will it run hot then?
  9. pny listed it and 2080ti for preorder check the news
  10. So I will be getting a rtx 2080 gpu with an i5 8400, but then I wanted a portable PC so I looked up some mini towers. Q300P looked good, has good reviews, and one youtuber (pccentric) even made a balls to the walls high end pc with an i7 8700 and ml240 liquid cooler and SLI 1070ti founders edition, although he did use new and better case fans. He didn't talk about temperature though. So, it is confirmed that 2080 will have a tdp of 280 watts, that's 100 more than a 1070ti, which means that it will be a lot hotter than a 1070ti. So if I were to use an AIB custom rtx 2080 in a mini tower case q300p specifically), will it run hotter than running it in a masterbox mb500 mid tower with the same number of fans?
  11. I know all that, and I'm only comparing 1080p benchmarks of the same games, my question is why is there such a big difference between different reviewers
  12. ok but it means that the gpu is slower than the cpu, so the cpu isn;t hindering its performance, thats what not bottlenecking means
  13. this guy is slightly more famous and he gets results like what other big youtubers get, only a few fps difference. hell, in linus' video, an 8400 is better than an 8700k with a 1080ti
  14. actually he uses both 1060 and 1080, see the video again. there's no difference with a 1060, meaning no bottleneck, but with a 1080 there's a huge difference.
