Not so great Solution and i didnt quite find the root of the problem either but , after i tried executing the installer on a different pc not linked through my Microsoft acount with one drive and it worked , i tried unlinking PC1 and deleting everything in one drive but it was still trying to create this damn file ,so i clean installed windows unticked all the options barnacules style and didnt sign in with my microsoft acount ,take that microsoft
  2. Hey Guys anyone with coding experience will propably know a thing or two on how to help me out, i have this exe file for a program i am trying to install for some mysterious reason i sure dont understand its trying to create a directory with ??? in the title which is off course impossible in windows , i cant for the life of me understand why this is happening , i tried older vesrion of this program and i still have the same issue ... any one please help?? , i really need this thing
  3. DUDE prime 95 ! is very stressful for ANY Cpu so there is that , i was testing an 8700k a couple of months ago and i couldn't keep the thermals under control on that with a brand new Celsius S24 so no surprise there , to install new bios you take the ROM file unrar it if its in a rar place it in a usb stick i think it has to be formatted it fat 32 not entirely sure about that then boot into bios there will a message in start up telling you the key you need to press to boot into bios its usually the del or F1 and there should be an option in there
  4. you do not need a special version,(the version you already have 1.8 ) ,you just need the last version released by MSI for your motherboard , its here http://download.msi.com/bos_exe/mb/7917v1D.zip version 1.D
  5. trying a different cooler will help you stop guessing what is wrong , looking through software and bios numbers , if its the pump or whatever else , in your case it doesn't make a difference, its an AIO cooler you cant replace the pump alone anyway , you will have to replace the whole thing BUT first re apply thermal paste just to be a 100% sure
  6. hey man ,if it sit at 30 c idle and then as soon as you do something goes immediately up to 90 that means that the heat within the chip rises and there is nothing to keep it from continuing to rise and cool it down fast enough , so something in your cooling chain isn't working well enough , also some more info on the kind of stress you put it under would be an indication whether or not you need to go through the steps i will mention now 1.change thermal paste ,3 years is a fair amount of time to do so the first step is about the thermal problem the next two are about the issues you have with the numbers shown if you still have thermal issues after re- applying Thermal paste ,change the cooler ,see if you have the stock cooler lying around or something you might be able to use to see if there is a difference 2.download the latest bios for your motherboard ,you do not need a special version,(the version you already have 1.8 ) ,you just need the last version released by MSI for your motherboard , its here http://download.msi.com/bos_exe/mb/7917v1D.zip version 1.D released in 2016 this should make a difference with compatibility issues with corsair link and your bios ,or not, but its good to have the latest 3 Clean install windows , it don't get this one either but it makes a difference sometimes again before all this see if the kind of load you put it under IS the issue first
  7. Hello Dijkstra i recently repaired an old pc with a x58 asus and 920 i7 6gb corsair ,and a 650 80 plus PSU so much like your system ,I replaced the graphics card which was not working ,with a 660 gtx that the client had lying around ,which is quite a power hungry card and it worked fine , the 1050 or 1050 ti is not as power hungry and i think some models don΄t even require a 6 pin from the PSU to work ,so don΄t worry about power requirements it will work just fine , however x58 and 900 series cpu΄s are a bit outdated so i wouldn't expect too much of that PC , that said if functionality is all you are going for, you have nothing to fear
  8. Guys what is the deal with the integrated graphics , sometimes I turn the pc on and I don't log onto windows right away so it goes to sleep , when I wake it up it zooms in like crazy is there any way to fix this ?
  9. Hey guys so I have a Maximus z370 paired with an 8700k , tried to do manual overclock to 5.0 and rebooted into bios again but it still showed only 3.7 then I tried the AI suite overclock it said 5.2 40% overclock but it showed up nowhere not in the bios not in windows not in Cpuz I have changed to high performance in power settings , is anyone familiar with this annoying issue ?
  10. Hello again everyone and Thank you all so much for your Help ! i would like to share my solution and findings so anyone else having a similar issue overclocking the R7 1700X paired with an Asus Crosshair (and for some reason cheap RAM) can work around this ,i first wanted to eliminate the possibility of thermal throttling , so i removed the water cooler cleaned and reapplied thermal paste (i don't know if i should do that or not ,or even if it made any difference) the cooler had its own Pre-Applied ,thermal paste ,which seemed to be working fine ,but i wanted to be sure , at first i got higher temperatures but as time went by it started to drop lower than before so great , i then got into the BIOS for the 45th time today , and tried a different method of overclocking Custom CPU core ratio -> Manual >FID 156 >DID 8 CPU Core Voltage -> offset Mode CPU Offset Mode Sign - (minus) -CPU Core Voltage Offset 0.00625 I Run Cinebench again and voilà 1672
  11. Update it was the overclock , I tried over clocking it again and tested it in cinebench and it dropped right back down to 960
  12. I have just cleared cmos and reseated the RAM in the slot closest to the processor , I got this message on startup please enter setup to recover BIOS setting when RAID configuration was built ,ensure to set SATA configuration to RAID mode. I entered bios setup and exited again not changing anything booted to windows and I just got 1508 ! Thank you so much Man !! But what did I do wrong was it the overclock or the voltage ? Because I would really like to overclock this to 4.0ghz
  13. so if i get a second stick of 2133 ghz 8GB and run them dual channel i should be seeing proper scores if there is no other issue
