Ikr. Telstra throttles me to 1.5Mbps after I exceed my 40GB cap. But it's unlimited.

sms is still very big in Australia, it's always there, every phone is compatible, you don't need to create an account, search for friends, download an app or subscribe to anything. it doesn't use mobile data you can send photos and short videos just the same.

And here's me hoping that Google now allows SMS syncing and backup to Google Drive just like what Apple has been doing for years since iOS 5 with iCloud.

Funny thing is that the only use I have for my phone is for 2 step verification codes... What's App, Telegram and Skype all I use on my laptop/desktop.
I don't web browser on the phone either, only one the laptop/desktop... I rarely do or receive calls as at work it's all internet or when really needed I use the office's land line.
So yeah... phones are worthless to me... kinda pisses me off when people knowing I'm not tech savvy ask me stuff about phone apps and phones in general as I really don't care to them one bit... still rocking Windows strong to all my online life.

darkbayleef reacted to Crunchy Dragon in Intel Hires Former Larrabee Architect
I'd love to have another competitor in the GPU market, honestly.
Larrabee could have been a big success if everything in Linus's video was true.

Not very much for me to add. I haven't seen this posted on many major news outlets so I thought I should post it here. It's kind of interesting. Does this mean we could finally be getting a discrete GPU from Intel? What do you guys think?
Here's the tweet from Tom:

darkbayleef reacted to Master Disaster in WOW Classic will be based on Patch 1.12 but will contain some modern improvements
In a recent developer blog over at Blizzard the WOW Classic team has finally confirmed some details of how it will work with the public. It seems as though they've settled on Drums Of War as the base for classic WOW as V1.12 represents the most complete classic experience.
The team experienced expected bugs including crashes, freezes and no modern GPU support, things you'd expect when porting an old version to modern platforms.
The team also seems reluctant to abandon modern back end changes, instead opting to backport them to the classic version to end up with the classic game running on the modern backend.

Gotta be honest, I have no interest in WOW so I'm not the person to be giving opinions on it but I know loads of you guys here were fans of Nostralius (sorry if I misspelled that) so I figured I'd share this here.

Have to be naive if you ever took their AM4 support deal to the heart... obviously some limitation such as this would come to be.

S: His wife
John Bain, also known as TotalHalibut or Totalbiscuit has passed away this morning as confirmed by his wife, Genna Bait on Twitter. While John was a controversial person, he was widely known throughout the gaming industry and he was a pinnacle moment for consumer advocacy.
Earlier in the week his wife reported that there was some issues with his breathing and today, she confirmed his passing.
My thoughts on the matter: I'm just really sad after seeing this tweet I feared the worst for him. Literally speechless
FUCK CANCER
Final tweet from his account issued by Genna
Rest in peace you glorious man.

I mean being on par with a 1080ti is what I would expect from an 1170 but given that this is WCCFtech they likely don't have a source and simply looked at past numbers to make a ball park estimate, same with the "specs" they gave
