The focus was on "vision os" for the new Apple AR this year. Also, the WatchOS update was rather significant. The TVOS update was larger than expected too. The two "underwhelming" ones this year were IOS and MacOS

OK, not all of it. Some new features are improvements on old things. Some are features Android already has. "Put your phones together and send things like contacts to each other." Hmm you mean like NFC that has been first able to do this on Android (and Windows phone back thn) since 2010?

Otherwise, the standby screen basically for when your phone is docked seems alright. Allowing good tracking to let someone know you got home safe is nice.

Idk, it's features that have mostly been around, just tweeked, updated, or finally brought to Iphone. Some stuff Android has had.

Sorry buddy, it's not a scam. AI of course doesn't actually know things like people do. Maybe never will.

But it's such an amazing tool and without you probably realizing it, multiple apps, many things will get improvements and you won't even realize it's AI making these improvements.

AI search is soo great. Having AI understand what it's looking for to help you search is amazing.

AI will make our work loads so much faster. It's going to cut down on lots of people's time. That's the real benefit. In many many areas it's just going to improve people's lives and you won't even realize it.

Sharp_3yE got a reaction from Taf the Ghost in MQA Ldt goes into Administration (similar to bankruptcy in U.K.). What happens to Tidal and others?
MQA Ldt, the company behind the MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) audio standard, is going into Administration which to US citizens that means Bankruptcy.

    https://www.whathifi.com/news/mqa-is-going-into-administration

What does this mean for the company or the others who have adopted their technology such as Tidal who uses MQA for their Master audio standard for their Tidal HIFI Plus subscribers?
Well, we don't know for certain exactly.

But, we have heard from Tidal's CEO Jesse Dorogusker recently in a AMA on Reddit. What Tidal's CEO said was they will be introducing FLAC as an option alongside MQA for their Master audio files. MQA will still be there but FLAC as another option. FLAC though is apparently a larger file for transfer then MQA.
Tidal already uses FLAC for their CD quality/16bit 44.1khz files.

    https://www.whathifi.com/news/tidal-is-introducing-hi-res-flac-to-its-hifi-plus-subscription-tier

I think this is good news. More good options are never a bad thing. Plus, MQA in some tests have shown to add a little bit of distortion in the process of the MQA process.
I believe the MQA technology is suppose to work like how a ZIP file works where it somehow shrinks a file and then opens it back up. In theory that was the idea I believe. Though it apparently has added distortion in the process some people have said.

Thats my understanding. So, to me this is really interesting and good news for Tidal users.

When I bought my OnePlus6t I put in in a case on day 1. A few months later I took it out of the case to clean it and realized the back glass had a small crack in it. The front/screen was fine.. just the back glass. In a case.

I don't know what the solution is without feeling cheap but I agree, glass backs are a terrible idea.

I think you have missed significant parts of the conversation and as a result misunderstand where I stand in this debate.
"To each their own" has been my stance on this for the entire conversation. The whole argument started like this:

Someone: The M1 iPad Pro is the most powerful 2-in-1.
Someone else: And it won't run the software you need.
Me: I think 90% of people would do just fine with an M1 iPad with iPadOS. It will do what most people need it to do.

Then there has been a ton of back and forth between me and Henry where he says that's not true and people wouldn't be able to use an iPad because of the OS limitations, and me saying that most people are not affected by those limitations because their needs are simple, but if you do have some specific needs then the iPad is clearly not the right device.

I do accept that. All I am saying is that the group of people who actually need a Surface Pro, and couldn't do the things they want to do on an iPad, is really small.

I do hate these Willy waving discussions. I use both ecosystems and at times working together in a complementary way. For instance, I was using my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil as a graphics tablet to edit photos on my PC in Photoshop. Works a treat for selections. Both devices have their place and are superb at what they do. Sure, it would be great to see many Mac apps running on an iPad, there are also iPad apps I would love to see on windows. Having also owned older surface devices I found them very good too, but for me at least they were not reliable. Hopefully the new models are better.

My workplace has been full of Surface Pros for years and people love them, and nobody has required TB3 who uses them. Things may look important, or appear as an oversight or something else might just look better by having more features but what happens way more often is that those things never get used or wanted by those that use the device. The most common sense is to not add things on to a device that won't get used, ticking spec boxes for the sake of it is not common sense.

You either fit the usage of a Surface Pro device or you don't, the people that don't here step up to an HP Spectre x360 because if you need more of a laptop device but still want a tablet mode for the few times you'd like it this suits better.

I personally think Chromebooks are utter stupid devices that belong in the garbage, or better never made and sold in the first place, but they sell by the truck loads. Are they bad devices? For me yea, terrible. But if I evaluated all devices on the success, suitability and purpose to the market on my own requirements or wants 99.99999%+ of devices would all be failures. I mean I don't buy laptops because to me they are nothing but a compromise.

Well, I started a long reply and then i accidently hit the back button on my mouse and lost what I wrote. Didn't want to repeat it at the time.
Here's the problem though. I shouldn't waist my time replying cuz you make really dumb points.

Lets examine what you said here. "Are tehes devices IP rated? Are these devices as resistant to misuse as typical smartphone from today that’s protected with a decent case?"
NO!! Of course not. That's why we don't use them. They are obsolulete. Why? Cuz there's new devices that are better. BUT WAIT! What are we debating here? OH YEA, we are debating about A NEW DEVICE COMING OUT NEXT YEAR!!!! So you're complaints about old devices is DUMB!!

Why did I bring up old devices? To show you that you're wrong about people's want's and expectations.

It's like your complaining because you might not like something. FINE!!! You're NOT EVERYONE!!

You: "I don't use multitasking. I want thunderbolt. I don't want new technology that isn't fleshed out yet. I don't want things that aren't perfect."

Me: That's fine but not everyone is you! MOST people do some foarm of multitasking and many would love a foldable device that folds out to reveal more screen. Lots of people would like earbuds that have more functionality to them. Lots of people wold be fine with a PC that can't do everything cuz people buy ipads, chromebooks and things. Not everyone needs things perfect. You can't have things perfect. You get what is out there.

It's fine to not like certain aspects of these devices. I agree with you on certain of your complaints. But, just because you like or want something doens't make that product bad or wrong.

I mean look at this statement. "Apps need to come a long way and I would only want to use a foldable if..." I agree that the devices need development and so do apps. BUt you can't go further without releasing the product.
I think foldable devices are really cool. I never bought a tablet cuz I thought it was just a big smartphone I could only use at my house mostly. I have a PC so why use a tablet? Well, Now my pocketable device can become a large screen to do more stuff.
