  1. Ok so during my testing I put in an older GPU I had spare. It's a 1050ti and takes no external power cables. It booted first try with that without me changing anything in the bios. I'm thinking it might be a PSU, I'm going to check all the cables again just in case
  2. Hi! Having an issue with my PC It boots fine without a GPU in but when I put my GPU in I cant get a video out. I'm plugging into the GPU's video outs and I already RMA'd the GPU thinking that was the issue but they sent it back saying it was fine. It's an intel 12th gen system: here are the specs: PCPartPicker Part List: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/HkR49r CPU: i5-12600K CPU Cooler: EK EK-AIO 280 D-RGB 116 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus PRIME B660-PLUS D4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Storage: Samsung 980 Pro Video Card: Zotac GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB GAMING Trinity Power Supply: Corsair RMx (2021) 1000 W Any help would be much appriciated!
  3. Hi! Having some issues with my laptop. I cant get any sound from the internal speakers, they arent being recognized in device manager either. External audio devices still work however Any suggestions? Thanks!
  4. Hi! My monitor has been having some issues recently. It was showing some banding at the top of the screen. I wasn't too sure what the issue was so I left it for the night. Now I cant seem to get anything on the screen, not even the OSD. Any ideas as to what the issue could be?
  5. If you've not enabled it specifically then you should be fine! You can definitely be sure if you are running windows 10 home as it doesn't come with it. If you really want to check for certain, just boot to windows, search for manage bitlocker and all the details should be there!
  6. I recently bought a rackmount PC for a radio studio. even with it's lowly specs of a 10400 and no dedicated gpu, i'd still find it unlikely to fit in there. The only computer I could really think that would fit there and give you that performance is a mac studio but they're not cheap and i doubt you'll want to go OSX. So i doubt you'll find something that small but you could always try building a compact miniITX build. Some might be small enough to fit in there! Or if you're crazy, you could 3d model something and send it to someone like protocase if you have more brass than sense. GL with the build!
  7. As long as you arent running bitlocker you should be fine with pressing Y and continuing. If you have enable bitlocker, make sure you have the recovery code before continuing! otherwise you will lose all your files, not a good way to start the day!
  8. Id be very surprised if both EVGA units are bad. They've always been very good among my friends. I can't say much to the tester and if it was me i wouldn't trust it's readings. Proper, accurate PSU testing gear is not going to be less than $20 . Have you been able to test a known good PSU with the tester?
  9. Since you aren't using intergrated graphics or getting a Z series board, you might be able to save some money going with the 12700F It lacks an iGPU and overclocking for future but if you can save $50 or more it might be worth it to you!
  10. Best wireless mouse right now is the g pro superlight. It doesnt have a thumb rest but i know people love it. Corsair have a few wireless options, if a thumb rest is what you're after, the Dark Core RGB might be what you're after. in terms of keyboards you're gonna have fewer options but the G915 from logitech might be a good option.
  11. Hewie

    Pls help

pretty sure this means it isn't plugged in properly, check the cable on the PSU end and reseat it on the gpu.
  12. these things are pretty common, I know NZXT make one. This one doesn't seem to have external sata power so you are going to be limited with how much power you're gonna draw a lot of power i'd definitely spend the little extra for one with sata power.
  13. the website RTINGS is fantastic for monitor reviews, I'd highly recommend them! Main things to consider: IPS vs VA Depending on your room lighting a VA panel may look better if it's particularly dim or IPS might be better for off axis viewing if thats your style Freesync is a great bonus if you can get it If you're feeling particularly brave, you can get a broken monitor on ebay and try and replace the panel. It's a risk but you can get a super high end display for quite cheap! Think LTT have a vid on this GL on your quest!
  14. There's a good chance it's the PSU. 750W seems a little low for that build IMO Easy way to test is to reduce the power limit in something like MSI afterburner. Set it to about 80% and see if the problem persists. If it works fine then it's most likely a PSU issue. The good news is you can run this until you can get yourself a new PSU! Just be sure to reset the power limit when you install it =P I'd recommend a 1000w unit from a good brand. It's probably a little overkill but a good PSU should last for years, even with more powerful GPU's!
  15. Depends on what games your playing and if the display outputs are connected to your 1660ti or your cpu. I can't really say but based off what you said im guessing you have an ROG gaming laptop which should have the display outs connected to the GPU. Also make sure you're actually hitting higher frame rates. No point in getting a 165hz monitor and only running at 61FPS. Easy way to test is to run a quick benchmark in the games you want to play (make sure vsync is off!)
