Ok so currently you have everything backwards. The top and front fans are acting as exhaust and the one back is acting as intake. This is not a good idea. When you have that much negative pressure and no filter on the intake you end up with loads of dust in your case. I would flip the two rad fans to intake, and the back fan to exhaust, then run the 3 exhaust at lower rpm than the intake so you still have balanced airflow, dust filters, and aesthetic.

So supermicro just released a z390 motherboard with a plx chip for the cpu pcie lanes. I know it is very common for plx chips to exist for chipset pcie lanes/hsio lanes, but I don't think there is a motherboard out there for cpu lanes. Also, I know that plx chips don't cause huge issues in terms of latency for usb ports and such, but if you were to have crossfire veg 64s, a coprocesser, and an nvme raid array all at once using the full capacity of all plx lanes, would you start running into issues? All I know is that this screams workstation/nas, but they market it toward gamers. source

Audherbagn got a reaction from 8uhbbhu8 in Judge Allows Lawsuit Over AMD's FX Processors to Continue
Remember that old FX lawsuit over core count? Well it is back.

Cotext: The AMD FX series high end chips were launched as 8 core processors, but due to shared cache channels, they work more like hyperthreaded quad cores. People saw the opportunity to sue and did (as they should), but AMD didn't want to be sued. As a result of not wanting to be sued, AMD decided to try and get the case dropped claiming that the plantiffs knew the structure of the fx core before they bought them, due to their official definition of a core being changed. Now, a judge blocked that and the case can finally go forward.

The stock cooler will work but an after market will allow it to run quite and cooler. This helps with the turboboost functionality but isn't nessisary.

It shouldn't matter if you have a backup of the UPC, and the board. Plus, if the board works now, chances are it won't just randomly stop working (assuming it isn't something super janky)

I just bought a gtx 480 on account of it “running hot”, which I just assumed was the gtx 480 being itself. Turned out it was a bit more than that.

I would avoid the RX 580, it is so inflated because of mining that the gtx 1060 at about the same performance as the rx 580 is much, much cheaper

ram speed doesn't matter too much with coffee lake, and even so you can still overclock most ddr4 2400 close to 3000 mhz

I would recommend neither card. Try A pcie card that supports 802.11ac or better. Like this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0713RRZMB/?tag=pcpapi-20. I think gigabyte makes a nice one too. Those USB cards are pretty slow/unreliable/both

It should be fine, the rx 580 is sufficient however I would suggest a stronger cpu with more cores (either coffee lake or ryzen), however I do understand that it is a mac, and as long as you don't try anything too complex it should be fine

There is no real benefit for mATX other than size and price, but you will NEED new ram because your old x4 definitely does not have ddr4 and ryzen only supports ddr4

you don't need 6 cores, try this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/fttWGX/amd-cpu-hdxb99wfk4dgm
it will perform better in most dx11 games, as it has a higher clock speed, and it is still a quad core
