i would suggest just upgrading to zen 3 or comet lake, prolly 5800x for the pcie4+rbar support, leaving alot on the table with that 8700

Logitech mouse + Corsair or HyperX keyboard.

I use the Corsair K70 LUX and it's not given any problems at all.  I've paired it with the M65 Pro mouse which isn't the lightest but then, I prefer a heavier mouse.  They both work well with the ICUE settings if you like the RGB.  Maybe you might want to take a look at the Corsair K100 keyboard.

Logitech has been very good for me. I had a problem with those feet that raise the keyboard on my G513, they were broken. They requested pictures and Logitech told me they couldn't send replacement feet out so they sent a whole new keyboard. I have their G502 mouse but you have to be careful with a double clicking mouse wheel click( a common problem with G502). I've heard others say they contacted Logitech and they just sent a new mouse out since the problem affects nearly all G502 variants.

No idea, I've always just taken the opportunity to reformat my windows partition. I don't store anything important on it so it takes like 10 mins to reinstall the OS and another 10-15 to turn everything off in Windows and get drivers and what not installed at most. I think Windows has backup and restore tools built in, if you have enough space on another drive you might be able to use that, no idea if it needs the entire drive or if you can just point the installer at it.
 
Usually the drive manufacturers have a tool if you're really interested in that but with the Sabrent the reviews say it sometimes doesn't work depending on the kind of drive you're migrating.

ok I am gonna look up 1080 fe overclocks and do a test to see if it is stable.

I ramp the fans a lot more and am getting 60c during valley adn 1860 mhz

also, when i am in my room pretty much no one else is in here when I use my pc so fan noise isnt that big of an issue

If you want something comfy that sounds a lot like a Beats Solo then the $59 AKG K92 is pretty good and very comfy.
