  2. I recently got a Spectre 13 and have been looking for a decent backup battery pack that has the output to charge it. I've found a couple but they look jank and the reviews are sub par. Need something that's 20,000mah+ and portable enough to fit in a backpack for travel. I know the brick that came with it is 65w but if I could find a 100w battery it'd be perfect, but really anything thatll charge it in my bag will do. Any advice or links to another thread about the topic are greatly appreciated
  3. Which is better? can you run them together? will running them together help at all? the two i'm looking at are from Arctic https://smile.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Compound-Performance-Heatsink-Interface/dp/B0045JCFLY?sa-no-redirect=1 https://smile.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Thermal-Pad-0-5-Conductivity/dp/B00UYTT3I2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499729011&sr=8-1&keywords=arctic+thermal+pad
  4. It's not that, it's that those pads really don't help much in my experiences. I'm looking for something better. Brand suggestion? Same as above, any suggestions? I haven't really found any worthwhile. And I know 80 is normal, I just want something better. It's a nitpicky thing, I know, but still.
  5. So I recently purchased an ROG GL702VS, and I must say I love it. Caught it on sale and got it for $1400 (with a GTX 1070, I'd say I got a decent deal). It runs great, has solid gaming performance, I need to get an SSD for it but it'll be a few weeks till I can, so for now I'm stuck with the 7400 rpm HDD, which does fine for now (i boot my games off an external SSD so it's acceptable for now). So here's the thing, it runs a bit warm. With fans on max, it peaks in the 80c range. Not terrible by any means, but I feel like it could be better. I've been trying to brainstorm some laptop cooling ideas (outside of the normal cooling mats) that are relatively inexpensive while also bringing my temps down around 10 degrees at least, and would be even better if I could bring it down without having to max out my fans. Ambient temp is definitely an issue as I live in the south and my AC in my room is garbage. So far the best i can come up with is a DIY AC unit (pic attached), made out of a cooler full of ice and a fan, routed underneath my laptop, which is elevated off my desk. The problem i'm facing is the only fan i have that will doesn't put out enough air to push it out the tubes I have routed. Not to mention, condensation is a factor and haven't really thought of a solution for catching the water before it gets out of the tubes. Noise isn't really an issue for me, since i use noise cancelling headphones when I game, though I don't want it super loud since i do have roommates, so a silent air pump might work, though all the ones i've found aren't that powerful. So, any suggestions? Either on improving my idea or even your own ideas? Anything that has worked for you?
