  1. So yesterday I upgraded from my gtx 970 to the new gtx 1660 ti, I installed the drivers and decided to try a few games. Cranked settings up on my games, while maintaining really high framerates, perfect! Right? Well today I crash in Apex Legends (A pretty common thing if you've played the game) so I didn't think much of it and decided to run ccleaner and repair game files to try and help my cause. This is where things go south, My game refuses to work completely so I reinstall the drivers and my pc starts acting really weird so I do a complete shutdown of the pc and go do some stuff to let my pc "Chill out a bit" and return to see everything on my pc is normal, and my Apex Legends loads and looks great. Getting my high framerates on the same settings from yesterday everything looks right... wrong! I start getting these really funky fps drops from 144 to like 35 in the middle of fights, which is a huge problem when trying to land any type of shot on anyone. And it's not just apex legends, Anthem has really weird drops, Battlefield V, Golf It, and even lighter titles such as gmod and what not? What should I do this is really really annoying... any help is greatly appreciated!
  2. Boii if you don't get 16gb of ram lol
  3. 8700k, and yeah i tried telling him that it was similar to an i5 7600k but that wasn't good enough, I guess he just feels bad that he paid $185 for it and wants to make himself believe its better
  4. Friend is trying to tell me his i3-8350k is on par with an i7-8700k, its clearly not, i've shown him countless benchmarks and normal usage and he still won't let it go.
  5. If I had the extra money I would but its for my brother he's paying, ended up being an extremely good pc in the end though
  6. Ended up just getting an all new build, brother said he wanted it to last 5+ years and i figured the motherboard wouldn't go the distance
  7. so do you think its a good idea, or should i go for a new one with a g5400 gtx 1060 3gb and only 8gb of ram for same price
  8. Found an amazing deal on a Dell optiplex 9010MT with an i7 3770 and 8gb with windows 10 for $100, already bought another 8gb of ram, brand new psu, and am about to buy a gtx 980 but i'm having second thoughts, should I be worried or will I be alright, just feels weird to upgrade an older pc even with good specs.
  9. yeah i have a 1700x and my 2400mhz ram isn't cutting it either, will most likely go for some 3000mhz kits
  10. Main problem is rust, that game has so many fps drops with 8gb of ram its ridiculous
  11. I heard ryzen doesn't like it and has compatible issues even if you buy the exact same kit sometimes, thinking about just selling my current ram and buying a 16gb kit
  12. Just realized they don't make 4gb kits, but they make 4gb sticks, I could run in single channel but ik it's just going to hold back performance, i'll just get another 8gb kit
