TheInfinityBacon got a reaction from Noah Pirrotta in Crackling/Static From Whatever is Plugged Into the 3.5mm Jack.
Is your microphone connected to the front panel also? I have had an issue where a line-in was 'too powerful' for the shielding to properly work. The headphone and line-in cables are run together, so I would hear static in my headphones. My solution was to plug the line-in directly to the motherboard, and I never heard the static again.

It is live lol. We just went through superchats at the end of the show (as we always do - except when we forget)

Windows is really made for one user and one set of keyboard and mice at a time.
Aster is really your best solution here, having it work like a seperate pc will work well here

TheInfinityBacon got a reaction from WhitetailAni in Building a new PC ( 1080p video editing, Gaming )
Given you can actually obtain a GPU, it seems like a fairly good build. The only thing that stands out to me is the ram. If possible, go for 16 GB of ram (2x8). Some applications, specifically video editing can gobble up ram depending on the program, and complexity of edit. 8 GB could be frustrating to deal with. Also, it will help the system last for longer in general without upgrades.

TheInfinityBacon got a reaction from Renan_Longatti in Ryzen 9 5900x - High temps in idle (77-81°c)
It sounds like either your pump from the AIO is dead or not plugged in / setup in bios, or there isn't near adequate contact between the CPU and heatsink.
EDIT: Also when installing the AIO, did you remove any plastic cover / film from the heatsink?

you're better off with a prebuilt then, if you're dealing with someone inexperienced

TheInfinityBacon reacted to Dutch_Master in Does Linus still want to tour an Intel Fab? Maybe I can help.
I'd suggest contacting LMG directly (via their contact page) as I'm pretty sure Linus (still) wants to visit your fab.

TheInfinityBacon reacted to kernkraft in Does Linus still want to tour an Intel Fab? Maybe I can help.
Hello everybody, first post on this website.
I was just watching "Linus "Tech Tips" Sebastian Reacts to His Top 1000 YouTube Comments | Ars Technica" and Linus mentioned he'd love to tour a TSMC or Intel Fab.
The video is 10 months old so I wasn't sure if anything has changed. I know he probably has better access to Intel's PR people than I do, but I'm an Intel fab employee
When our site specific covid restrictions are loosened I can put a request in. I think the level of approval needed is within my reach if I find the proper approach, and might work if going through corporate PR contacts failed.

TheInfinityBacon got a reaction from Romano in What happens if I only connect one RCA cable in this type of speaker?
Depending on the speaker, and how it is controlled, yes, it is possible they are not going to be as loud as they may have been otherwise. Is there anything wrong doing what you have done? Nope.

TheInfinityBacon reacted to dizmo in Card prices
There's two things you have to realize here:
1) Not everything on Newegg is sold through Newegg directly; might want to check who the seller is before bashing Newegg.
2) MSRP is Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price. It's a guideline, not a guarantee. Retailers are more than welcome to set their own pricing.
The tariffs definitely add to it.

TheInfinityBacon reacted to jaslion in Cpu overheating
Might be pump failure. Can you feel the pump vibrating if you touch the block? What are temps in the bios? If they are above 30c in the bios it can very well be your pump failed.

TheInfinityBacon got a reaction from Letgomyleghoe in Xfx590 fatboy 8 gb with ryzen5 for 1080p 144hz ?
It really depends on the games you are playing. The RX 590 is definitely capable of high FPS gaming, especially on esports titles like League of Legends, Rocket League, and CS-GO, where higher refresh rate really helps. A higher FPS monitor usually shouldn't negatively impact visuals on more demanding games, unless you turn on V-Sync, and start to see stuttering from my experience (leave V-Sync off is the conclusion). If the monitors have Freesync, just enable that, and your monitor will match frame rate with what the graphics card puts out (down to a limit of usually somewhere around 40 FPS)
If both of the monitors are a similar price, I would absolutely choose the 144Hz monitor.

TheInfinityBacon reacted to Worstcaster in Why isn't my GPU's fans spinning?
It's not unusual for fans to not spin up in light loads like office work or streaming video. Do they spin up in higher load situations like gaming? If you want them to spin up no matter what, you can use MSI Afterburner to adjust your fan curve.

TheInfinityBacon got a reaction from Famous in New PC
Everything looks fine to me, given the ram, and storage capacities meet your needs, and you can actually buy everything... According to the specs provided for the cooler height, and case cooler spec, they should fit fine, with about 8mm to spare. Ram speed should work out, but since your mileage may vary hitting the 3600 clocks with all four sticks installed.

TheInfinityBacon got a reaction from Eigenvektor in The best GPU to mine with?
This. The scenario could change somewhat if you have a fixed power bill, but pushing your GPU to 105% 24/7 is not really a great way to do things in general. They should perform similarly, just like they do in games. The extra $300+ in some cases is not paid for by the very small gains in mining.
