  1. Cool, that settles it for me then! I'm happy with how the build has evolved to how it is now and I think I will start ordering tomorrow if all is good. Thanks everyone for all the feedback, it is very much appreciated!
  2. Thanks! Updated list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/HenkDeVries909/saved/3nB3CJ The reason I picked three separate Corsair - HD120 RGB ones is because the case already comes with one, as described here. After watching some more videos I changed my MOBA to the Asus - CROSSHAIR VI HERO ATX AM4 Motherboard and GPU to the Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB AORUS Video Card and I am happy with this. The PSU is a bit more expensive but I like the less noise and better efficiency so I have included that as well. (Hopefully) some final questions: This one explicitly states that I should get the Ryzen 1700x instead of the Ryzen 1700 when I go with this MOBA but other videos have mentioned that there is nearly no difference between the two when overclocking. Should I go for the Ryzen 1700x if the max overclocking speed difference is around 0.2GHz? He also mentions immediately after that the G-Skill Trident might not reach its 3200Mhz potential due to compatibility issues and being reverted back to 2466Mhz, do you know if this is still an issue? Awesome!
  3. Awesome! I changed the Seagate HDD to the one with the green label. Not having an optical drive is not a problem and I prefer the RGB lighting and front I/O on the Aerocool P7 C1 over the Phanteks. However, I just noticed i selected the wrong one in the PcPartPicker list but this is the exact one I will be ordering Aerocool P7-C1 (Tempered Glass Edition) Black and it has the same glass window as the Phanteks. Having read through the KitGuru link and watching some videos I think its best to go for the 2K gaming at 90+fps considering i'm already stretching my budget and it would go a bit overboard, for now. i'm simply amazed at how drastically my build has already changed for the better since I was almost going to order everything, really greatly appreciated! Any final thoughts?
  4. @lee32uk, @honor, @SquintyG33Rs and @dude49 Thank you all for the given feedback! New list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/HenkDeVries909/saved/3nB3CJ I've updated it to reflect all the feedback received. Changes: - Went with the Aerocool P7 C1 case instead of the Sharkoon DG7000-G (Video of what i'm going for now!) - G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory instead of Corsair - Vengeance LED 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory - 3x Corsair - HD120 RGB 54.4 CFM 120mm Fans in combination with the Ryzen 1700 Stock Cooler instead of a NZXT - Kraken X62 Liquid CPU Cooler (although I do plan to order it later if the temperature gets to high when overclocking the Ryzen 1700 to 3.9 Ghz). - Removed the DVD drive since it won't fit in the Aerocool P7 C1 case. - Removed the Arctic Silver - 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5g Thermal Paste since the stock cooler comes with it's thermal paste already applied. The one thing I didn't change (yet) was the monitor due to the ones proposed being 60Hz which would not make gaming at 144fps possible but that begs the question, what is preferable; gaming/working at 2560x1440 with 144fps or at 3840x2160 (4K) with 60fps? If 4K is the answer then I'm looking at the Acer Predator XB271HK since it is around 120 euro's cheaper but is almost exactly the same. Comparison: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/compare/482516;467572/ Thoughts?
  5. Haha yeah never mind you just stepping on my ego there Thanks, I will take a look at the brands you mentioned! EDIT: Okay you guys were right, there are far better cases out there. You will be pleased to know I wont be taking the Sharkoon DG7000-G
  6. So if I buy the RAM Corsair - Vengeance LED 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory the issue should be solved down the line with a BIOS update? So investing in G-Sync and IPS isn't worth it? Also, i see the pg27aq only has 60hz, doesnt that mean I won't see anything higher than 60fps?
  7. Thanks for the correction! The x62 I'm ordering mentions that it has an AM4 bracket. I will look for a RAM kit that has specifically lower than 15 Cas Latency And I saw a few videos explaining 4.0 could be done but I rather play it safe and go for 3.9 then, still waymore than I have now anyway Depends on taste but I will take another look at different cases and see if I find anything better for the budget. Just out of curiosity, what case would be to your liking? Thanks for the build! I will wait with the ordering of the x62 to see if I can just go with the stock cooler as it would save me a lot of money spend better elsewhere. On the monitor, I see that it only has 60hz which would be a waste of a 1080TI so I would rather go for one with a higher Hz. Why did you go for a higher wattage PSU?
  8. UPDATE: I've updated my PcPartPicker list based on the feedback thus far received: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/HenkDeVries909/saved/3nB3CJ 1. Budget & Location Around the €2600 - €3000 or $3000 - $3400 range and in the Netherlands, but there is quite a big markup on parts bought from vendors here so I’m also looking for cheaper alternatives on Amazon and Ebay or anything else that ships to The Netherlands. Tips on this are very welcome! 2. Aim Game development with programs such as Unreal Engine, Visual Studio etc and the occasional movie editing. And of course AAA gaming! 3. Monitors At least two monitors each with 2560x1440 resolution. 4. Peripherals I have a keyboard and mouse for it and I intend to start with a Ubuntu OS and otherwise Windows 10. 5. Why are you upgrading? I'm looking for a game station and work station in one able to play AAA games at 2560x1440, 144Hz/FPS, high/ultra settings. I have been using a Lenovo Y500 for the past few years as my only computer, which is why I am more than ready to go all out on the specs and get the best possible system. So far I have compiled the following list of my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/HenkDeVries909/saved/3nB3CJ I made the same list for Dutch vendors here: Tweakers List *Note 1:* In the future I hope to upgrade from 16 GB to 32 GB of RAM and to order the monitor again to have a dual screen setup. I furthermore intend to overclock the Ryzen 1700 CPU to 4.0 3.9 GHz, which seems to be stable from what I've seen. *Final note:* This is to become my "Battlestation" computer which is why I have chosen parts that go well together in terms of aesthetics with an overall black and RGB led lighting theme. Video of what i'm going for now! Any suggestions are more than welcome and if it is good to go then I intend to start ordering. Thank you very much in advance!
  9. 1. I have been previously looking at the Cooler Master V8 which goes for around $100 but I figured since that takes up so much space I would rather go for water cooling. Then I fell in love with the infinity mirror RGB coloring of the NZXT Kraken and kind of stuck with that. 2. In this case I don't mind paying extra for that look that I am going for but if there is a version with less unneeded features than I would be happy to change it. 3. I'm one of those people who likes to simultaneously do lots of things and have a ton of programs open at the same time as well as far to many browser tabs, so the extra RAM is a necessity Also the game-development I do requires a powerful workstation but I do see your point of not overdoing it, I will look for a set of 4X8GB of RAM and save my money there. I agree there is no need for my situation to go above 32 GB anyway. 4. I was a bit put off by the EVO having half the TBW (200.000) than the PRO (400.000) seems to have, Comparison. Which is why I chose to spend the extra to get a drive that lasts twice as long. Is that a good reason to get the PRO or is it better to just save the money for the next generation that comes out once the EVO has reached its lifespan? 5. Compared to other 1080TI's, the MSI GeForce GTX 1080Ti Gaming X is one of the cheaper ones and I don't mind the extra bit of price for that look. 6. The NZXT S340 seems to be the same price range as the Sharkoon DG7000-G (Black/Red) so then it becomes more of a personal taste decision. I hope I don't gave the impression of being stubborn and if i'm seeing this wrong or grossly overspending than please let me know. In general I don't mind spending more for a certain look but if I can achieve that similair look for less then me and my wallet are happy as well. Thank you very much for all of these points!
  10. 1. Budget & Location Around €2000 - €2600 or $2300 - $3000 range. So far I have compiled the following list of my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8tvF6X *Note 1:* >NZXT - Kraken X62 Liquid CPU Cooler and SHARKOON - DG7000-G (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case are not compatible. I checked and the NZXT Kraken should be able to fit at the top of the Sharkoon Case so this should (?) be a false flag. *Note 2:* Prices seem about right, as a reference I made the same list for Dutch vendors here: Tweakers List The total is €2870.95 ($3279.57) which is considerably higher than the list from PCPartPickers so it seems better to just order everything internationally. *Note 3:* In the future I hope to upgrade from 32 GB to 64 GB of RAM and to order the monitor again to have a dual screen setup. I furthermore don't intend to overclock anything outside of what is allowed by the manufacturers through their software. *Final note:* This is to become my "Dream" computer which is why I have chosen parts that go well together in terms of aesthetics with an overall black and red led lighting theme. See the Sharkoon case demonstration and my Tweakers List for the impression i'm going for. Another example Any suggestions are more than welcome and if it is good to go then I intend to start ordering. Thank you very much in advance!
