  1. Hello, currently I have a Ryzen 1200 with 1x 8GB Crucial SR 2400Mhz CL17 Memory on an ASUS Prime B350 Plus and i plan to upgrade it with a Ryzen 2600X as soon as the price will fall down a bit. At the same time I want to upgrade my system to 16GB of RAM, but I am not sure how: 1. Buy another 8GB SR 2400MHz CL17 ~80€ 2. Buy a 2x8GB SR 3200MHz CL14 (Flare X) ~220€ PriceDelta: 140€ Is it worth to pay the extra 140€ for the better RAM, since Ryzen scales well with it? Or would you recommend a 3. option? Greetings
  2. So what do you think about: R5 1400 OC X370 Board and upgrading it for a future Ryzen (still AM4) 6C/8C as soon as games take a serious advantage of the extra cores? EDIT/Add: So I drop a bit of performance but also save a lot $ and do not get into Intels more or less confusing and unpredictable way of continuing their CPU-LineUp.
  3. A few questions: Why a X370 board? Will the B350 not be compatible for future Ryzen?? And why R7 1700? I don't see the point in buying an 8C now. If I go for the AMD platform, then the best bet would be the R5 1400, by saving a few bucks and upgrade it to an future Ryzen 8C for the same board. Basically the same path I talked about, just with the not as powerful AMD CPUs.
  4. Solely gaming! And yes, you are right, the 7700k is perfectly adequate. But my point is, in the near future the games will be optimized for multiple cores like 8C. At least i am afraid of buying a 7700k Z270 platform wich will be "useless" in the next few years. And with the X299 I'll already have the platform for future Intel-8-Core CPUs.
  5. Hi! I need help by choosing the best system: System 1 7700k CPU Z270 mainboard ~$480 System 2 7740X CPU X299 mainboard ~$580 difference $100. The question: What system should I buy? For InGame-performance, these systems are almost identical (FPS, that's the point here). So at first it does not make sense to spend $100 for "nothing". But with the X299 platform I have the opportunity to upgrade to an 8-Core CPU in the future, once this is actually necessary (ratio as current 2C vs 4C). When this 8C-era has arrived, there will be an Intel 8C for ~$350 for sure and in all likelihood compatible for the just released X299 platform, which I then don't have to upgrade! This path seems to me even more useful, if also more expensive, than now buying an 8C (Ryzen 7 1700), which has currently less power than the 7740X or a future 8C. Lookin' forward to some answers!
