  1. I bought a new power supply today, put it in my system, and after about 2-3 hours of use, it fried. There was a very loud pop and now it wont supply any power to the motherboard. I'm starting to think its another component in my system that's faulty. Can you think of anything that could've cause a brand new power supply to fry? It was the corsair 1000w 80+ platinum one too.
  2. that's what i want to do. but that will leave me without a PC for weeks. I want to 100% confirm that the issue is with the psu and how to go about determining that so when i do send the psu back I can comfortably buy another one immediately knowing that it'll fix the issue
  3. x34 overclocks to 100hz. it does not guarantee stable 100hz. the dell monitor offers native 100hz, and overclocks to 120 hz

  5. I've only got the one computer so unfortunately no
  6. My plan is to 100% confirm that the psu is the fault, then return this one and buy a new one so I don't have to be without a PC.

  10. Hey guys, I have began to think my power supply is failing. Previously, under load, I was getting random BSOD's and now my pc has began to reboot randomly, without BSOD. Like it looses power and then boots up again. It happens while gaming and while stress testing using realbench. First time stress testing with realbench, I ran while cpu was overclocked slightly. Rebooted randomly without BSOD within the first hour. The cpu in the past was overclocked much higher and was running fine. Second time I ran was with motherboard default settings. Rebooted randomly without BSOD between 5-6 hours. Temps across the system are all fine. I have done a clean install of windows and run and passed memtest. Strange thing is though, I've tested cpu using aida64 with a higher overclock than testing with realbench, and that lasted 6+ hours without a crash or reboot. So my question is, is it most likely my power supply failing? If so, how can I be 100% sure it is? If not, what else could it be and how do I confirm the fault? Cheers, Alex
  11. 20 degrees cooler I don't think it is the cooler though. I've felt both of the tubes, ones hot, which indicates heat is being transfered to the liquid, and the other cool, which indicates that the radiator is doing its job.
  12. Hey guys, I'm beginning to think the temp sensor on my 5820k is faulty. Some days it's showing my temps at load hovering around 60C-70C and other days 90C-100C. I've replaced the thermal paste several times and am fairly sure the cooler is seated correctly. I'm using the corsair h110i gtx aio cooler. Also, the temp sensor on the cooler itself, is showing a much much cooler temp, similar to the lower temps I had with the cpu. I was wondering if it is possible for the cpu sensors to become faulty, and if so, is there any way to test and confirm the fault? Cheers
