PCI-e 3.0 x4 is still way more than enough.

Generally a little bit confused. Are you sure you have the cable the correct way? It should go into the USB 2.0 header (10-1 pin). If you are adamant it doesnt fit, please post a photo of your Corsair link cable (looking down at the header) and your motherboard header.

Just use the UBS 2.0 header

The USB2 header cable should look like this, as you can see, there is a 10-1 pin header and so should plug straight into your USB header, wires on the top (red to the left)

I don't know why it wouldn't match (it's a standardized connection). But if you still have issues you can take a regular USB mini to type A cable and just plug the AIO directly into an external USB port for the exact same effect.

You're using the wrong header the USB header is one the beside that, it is the second (right) portion of the ROG EXT header.

The Blue circle, the header next to that is not for USB.

I skipped using the tool entirely, just another way to complicate what should be otherwise relatively easy.

    Free space.
As in, space where you could put files in, but you won't.

If you CAN use 100 gb on a partition, it's adviced to keep an X amount unused to increase the SSD's lifespan. I've heard of different numbers, but leaving 30% free seems to be very good for your SSD's health AND speed.

So with a 100 gb drive/partition, only use up to 70 gb in this example.

Yes, that would be the best use of your SSD, if it were windows. I have no Ubuntu/linux experiance, but I would asume it's about the same. Biggest partition you can get, and don't fill that above 90% where ~70% is the sweetspot for long life and "max speed".

hold CPU by the corners (not touching the pins) flip it as directed line up the corners as shown in step 4 drop it softly in place snap clamp back onto the CPU
mainly worry about lining up the corner and the gold pins to the gold inserts. quote me if you're still confused.

typicaly on a cpu you set it in place to get it ready (lining up the corners) then when you push the clamp down on the cpu it pushes the pins into the slots.
so you put it in place clamp it down you should hear a weird crunching sound then you lock the clamp in place and you're done (don't drop it as a side note make sure it is gently assisted into place)

don't use the tool use your fingers and put it in place yourself lining the pins to the slots then clamp the clamp onto the cpu.

DO NOT USE THE TOOL, IT OVERCOMPLICATES THINGS AND INCREASES THE CJANCE OF SCREWING UP AND BENDING A PIN. Are we clear now?

haha so actually in that video he said that "some motherboards include tools for installation but I don't recommend using them"... The video is from an official Asus channel and my Asus motherboard includes a tool that its Youtube channel do not recommend to use. So the answer to my question: "What is the correct use of the CPU installation tool?" is: the correct way is not to use it.

Agreed, the tool can help reduce the unlikely case of dropping the CPU on an angle into the socket damaging the pins because you have a slightly better grip on the CPU. The instructions aren't very good and overall it doesn't make the process easier.
There have also been reports of the mounting tool having deformations and burs resulting in incorrect mounting of the cooler afterwards.
It was an interesting idea in theory, but overall did not achieve what it was intended to do.

The fan will just come on when the components inside get hotter. The fan otherwise would always run. There's really no reason to not enable it.
