Thanks for all the help guys! So i will be then installing my gpu into that system! I guess as an added bonus the ram is also faster than ddr3 so that works

As others have said, the i5 is the better choice. On top of that, you also have a solid upgrade path if you decide to put an i7 7700 in there later on or even get a z series board and k series chip since you already have DDR4.

I've had a similar issue recently, found it to be a memory leak issue related to out of date GPU drivers. But after having had this fix the issue, 3 months later I've had it return. So might be worth try...
