How the hell did you managed to find such a system for a mere $ 200?!?!?!
Or was it only the case itself

@balewis2 $700 seems like a decent price for the system. I wouldn't go any lower than $ 600 though.

yeah, $700 sounds right, not sure where the $200 came from seeing you can get a used 1060 3GB for that much, so he's not counting the whole system? or missed items ?

Disney has been sued for allegedly spying on Children through 42 games.

I find it a little disappointing that a lot of people playing a Free To Play game don't necessarily fully understand how or why they are able to play for free. I think that this is an issue companies using the Free To Play model should address.

In this case, the Free To Play games sold user data.

Some background on what the spying is:

Disney has responded to the lawsuit and are lawyering up faster than you can say "Guilty".

Disney is playing the "consumer doesn't understand" card and hopes that this will actually work in court.

Oh and here's all the games that are affected:

Disney, Disney, Disney.... what happened? I'm really confused. I thought you were milking people dry of money by encouraging people to watch expensive movies, go to expensive theme parks etc. But you're also making money off of Children's data? I think that companies aiming to make products for children should avoid making money by collecting information or selling information. Micro-transactions are also a bad idea for children games. The only business model that I think really should be used in apps or games for Children are paid games with no built in micro-transactions.

But hey, what do I know? I'm not terribly interested in Walt Disney Corporation's bottom line .

It doesn't make sense to buy an unlocked i5 with a cheap, non overclockable motherboard and expect to upgrade both CPU and Mobo soon. You can afford an unlocked CPU and an overclockable mobo now so why shoot yourself in the foot. Get an R5 1600 with a B350 mobo and you can overclock whenever if you decide you want to.
Again, this makes no sense. You don't build a Kaby Lake system 10 days before Coffee Lake launches and expect to upgrade to Coffee Lake, it's just a waste of money and won't work out as you plan anyway and you'll just have a weird, mismatched system.
    It is.

$10 less than what you were originally looking at but it has a better case, better fans, better GPU, and better/faster RAM. Also a motherboard and CPU that make sense together. Although, you're aware you're missing storage, right?

The GTX 1060 3GB is not "trash" as you call it, if you are on a strict budget.

Ah If you already own the parts, then it can't be helped. The system will work but some of the parts are poorly matched and will effect potential; For example the 7600k is an unlocked CPU but the B250 is a locked motherboard so you lose the potential gained from an unlocked board.

Everything else is fine, if you are still within your 30day return period then highly suggest you return the CPU and motherboard for R5 1600 and B350m board but if you aren't, it's not the end of the build. Think of it as a learning lesson and enjoy the build since you'll be fine maxing out current games at 1080p

balewis2 reacted to Evellence in What should i look in for motherboards?
CM Masterbox 5, they should fit. So main reason is overclocking right?
Dude i'm arguing with my neighbor about ryzen and intel since its release
To be honest i dont even know what to get now. 50% of people is telling me "NO intel is way better" and other half is like "screw that get ryzen".
Clock speed is better for gaming, and single core is more used. Vulkan does not work really well now and most of the games don't have that option, so that is why i decided to go with intel

Also i dont have any components yet, i'm getting them in one go.
And for PSU yeah, will get G2. Just wanted to see if i can get some worse components to fit headset and keyboard within the budget but that seems like bad idea. Since i'm a little short with money right now.

Some might say this is not tech related, however since Linus is a prominent member of the tech community I would disagree.

In any case Pulling A Linus was recognized by Urban Dictionary today, here is a link to the entry http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Pulling+A+Linus

    Pulling a Linus
Definition: To accidentally drop a expensive or irreplaceable piece of technology, usually related to computer hardware.
Example usage: Austin almost ended up pulling a Linus when he nearly dropped an LG UltraWide monitor.

The thing is it depends on what games you play, and what resolution and potential frame rates [standard 60? or highs into the 144s?]

essentially some games can be quite VRAM demanding. TechDeals did a great video which I've watched, you should check it out below if you need a bit of clarification as he spoke most details...

If it was in for me, I'd say the 1060 3GB would look like the better deal as 110$ more for extra 3GB vram isn't justifiable. but back to the first question you have to answer that for my answer to be quite definitive.
