Changis got a reaction from App4that in is this illegal
i suppose if he dumps his own bios for the emulator, personally playing a legally owned game in an emulator with a legally dumped bios should not be illegal, he could even use an iso personally dumped from the original owned disc (still in is possession).. it could be the console drive is broken and he can't get it replaced, and therefore uses an emulator to be able to play his game. (console must also be in his possession) but as said above, it depends on the law where you are, and to be fair, i don't think many gamers dump their own bios, so if he uses a bios found on the net, then yes, it's absolutely illegal

What motherboard do you have? If you have a socket with a built in backplate and it's using that for mounting your going to have to see about sourcing a new plate completely.

Changis got a reaction from itsaiden in CPU randomly spiking to 100 percent during games
that's not gonna solve the issue.. you won't be able to posess someone to fix your computer
try reinstalling drivers, also Windows 10 has a refresh function that will clean the windows installation, though you probably have to reinstall software afterwards

Changis got a reaction from Balrog0fMorgoth in Newly built PC inconsistent Frametime (Stuttering) in games.
maybe a low quality psu, but you shouldn't use those anyway.
hardware will ONLY draw as much current as they need.. you could put a 1000000000000w psu in and it would still only use the same draw.
PSU's does not affect performance unless they are bad quality and can't deliver power properly..

Changis got a reaction from Balrog0fMorgoth in Newly built PC inconsistent Frametime (Stuttering) in games.
the PSU is good, and good quality corsair psu's are among the best, so don't worry about it (it's overkill though, but won't degrade performance at all as the hardware only draws as much power as neededl

Changis reacted to just_dave in Old motherboard, fixable?
Parts from these times have liquid electrolytes. Look for capacitors with "bloated" tops. First check with multimeter (No CPU, Ram, PSU connectors etc.) where exactly do they belong and group them into like 3 different categories (high voltage, high capacitance, something between) and order them in bulk. You never know when they can come in handy.
@mariushm has experience with buying electrical parts

Take some clear good pictures of the motherboard and the parts that don't look quite right to you (close-ups) and post them here (use macro mode on your camera if it helps)
I'll try to help if i can

Changis got a reaction from JoeCoke in Old motherboard, fixable?
replacing caps might work, but you should change all of them.. so it is a gamble of time spent and cost of components vs maybe getting it running again...

just get a better cooler, it might cost a little bit, but you will be rewarded with better temps and less noise

Changis got a reaction from Dalius in Ram for 8700k oc please advise
as long as the price is similar or "close enough" it doesn't really matter wich one you get, both are good brands, so go for what gives you the most for your money, corsairs clock higher so i would go for those

Changis got a reaction from Catsrules in Deleted my documents folder, overclocking ram and CPU.
the documents folder is not on the desktop, it's in c:\users\"your account name"\documents
but it might be better if you made a new account so it would generate all user folders automatically..
the screenshot you provided shows your ram running at 2666. not 3200
have you tried resetting bios?

Changis got a reaction from ApexSutton31 in RAID 0 question
to put it this way; i have mine in raid0 as system drive, but i have cloud sync on my documents etc, and all my games are located on spinning disks, so a reinstall is pretty fast as i just overwrite the installations of gog, ubiplay, origin and steam, steam is the best, it just detects all games instantly..
if reinstalling and re-downlading, as well as no worries towards document loss, is ok with you, go with striped (0)
if you store things on your system drive, and aren't so good with taking regular backups to other media etc, go with mirrored (1)
the risk is as big as you make itt really.. if you put all your vital docs on your main striped drive, then it's a big risk of data loss.. but striping won't damage the drives or hardware in any way...

Should be interesting, perhaps i could hook it inline to the main water supply and do a total loss cooling system.
Every time someone flushes the bowl, my temps drop 20 deg.
