  1. there are some software solutions that can handle load balance, but i'm not sure i would use that.. both from a performance point of view and a security point of view. would you trust some third party app that can see ALL of your network traffic?
  2. you might get up to theoretical double speed, but you might also create more problem for yourself setting this up, troubleshooting etc... http://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1196663
  3. move to norway, our consumer law states that manufacturer has 2 attempts to fix the same error, if it appears a third time, you are legally allowed to return the product and get all your money back. though it might not be the most helpful answer in this case
  4. like bridging them you mean? but why? just for fun? it's often better to sell things you don't use than to think up ways you can start using them.. if they are not being used, i'm assuming you have no need for them, don't artificially create need for them to justify use..
  5. if that's the case, reinstall with the usb cable to the UPS left out so windows doesn't see the battery, problem fixed.
  6. you bought the card new a year ago? because it was released 2.5 years ago, so i wouldn't wait to long if you can RMA it. i'm assuming you still have the receipt? anyway, good luck atleast, i have a feeling that most likely they will conclude user error due to overclocking or see that the cooler was removed (thermal paste) and refuse rma.. then again i might be wrong..
  7. it sure isn't a resistor but what else can leave such a big splotch of residue? also, not all capacitors are round
  8. i remember back in windows 95 days you could set the computer type as laptop.. but haven't seen that setting for over a decade..
  9. please elaborate.. how does it think it is a laptop? is it what apps are configured or something? be a little more specific
  10. i'm assuming it is the residue left by the blown capacitor.. i don't thing resistors can blow like that...
  11. firstly: when copy pasting posts you have made other places, remove formatting so it's actually readable.. nobody with night theme is able to read this post.. also, what card? how old? have you overclocked it? done any mods? if it's broken and you keep using it, you are potentionally voiding any RMA claims you want to make.. it can work perfectly fine for years, or it can stop working in 5 minutes, impossible to tell when things like these happen, but if one blew, then others can as well, and using it now increases the risk of other caps blowing up too..
  12. depends on the rating of the power strip you are using.. spacing between plugs so transformers can dissipate heat etc..
  13. it should be good to go, that psu fit that motherboard, and unless you are going to run a overclocked 9i extreme and dual 1080ti sli, 650w should be more than enough for your build
  14. even when just regarding normal computers, this is still untrue.. some manufacturers have a proprietary power connection
  15. though RAM used for a ramdisk is RAM you can't use for Windows.. you didn't specify a specific amount, but lets say you have 20 gb of RAM, 8 of those should go to the OS, that leaves you with a RAM disk of 12GB.. so it's not very useful unless you want to use it as a scratch disk for video editing for instance, but even then it's not much storage.. you can always download VirtualBox and some windows ISO's (win 98 and back is freely available online, and newer versions can run unactivated for a while.. play around with VM's.. i'm assuming you have a multicore CPU with preferably 8 threads.. then you can atleast utilize your ram more.
  16. you misunderstood my comparison.. i stated "under the same conditions" that means a constant speed, not flooring the pedal.. but put it like this, it's like saying "my car does 5 gallons a mile when i floor the pedal, how can i make it use more fuel, even though it won't go faster?" the other comparison given was good also, it's like being the only car on a 16 lane highway, and you want your car to be wider to use up more lanes..
  17. your computer only uses as much RAM as it needs.. using more RAM won't increase speeds.. it's like saying "i only use 2 gallons of fuel a mile.. how can i make it use more under the same conditions?" it's just wasteful.. frankly, unless you run VM's or use ram heavy software, 8 GB is usually more than enough for normal use and gaming
  18. as the wifi logo suggests, the signal goes in and out from the sides of the antennae, and usually have a dead spot out from the top, that is unless your antennas are omnidirectional, but seeing as it is three antennas, i doubt it, since you would only need one of those. also check if it supports monitor mode.. you most likely have to google around for this, if it isn't, it's pretty useless for pentesting..
  19. ROG-STRIX-GTX1080TI-11G-GAMING Core Clock 1518 MHz (OC Mode) 1493 MHz (Gaming Mode) Boost Clock 1632 MHz (OC Mode) 1607 MHz (Gaming Mode) ROG-STRIX-GTX1080TI-O11G-GAMING Core Clock 1594 MHz (OC mode) 1569 MHz (Gaming mode) Boost Clock 1708 MHz (OC mode) 1683 MHz (Gaming mode)
  20. Can't say for sure.. it might say that even if the code is used.. you might be able to contact steam directly and ask them if you can verify the codes with them? also, wrong forum
  21. i don't have a HP.. but i know some motherboards have the option to change the splashscreen, this depends on the bios itself
  22. the boot menu is a menu you can call upon to select which device you would like to boot from, for instance a windows install media or bootable usb sticks etc. changing the bios splash screen might be possible, if so there would be instructions or atleast a setting for changing the splashscreen, otherwise you would have to learn how to mod the bios
  23. don't use tape.. the glue can dry up or just not be good enough and slowly release itself over time.. does the motherboard have any writing on it? do you know the brand and model number of the original computer?
