  1. Hi, I have a Gigabyte B250M-DS3H Motherboard with an i5 7500 and 1 8gb stick of Kingston Savage 2666 mhz memory , currently clocked at 2400mhz with XMP. Im aware that my motherboard only supports 2400mhz and I got this memory a long time ago since it was cheaper (for some reason) than 2400 fury memory, Now im looking to upgrade to double channel and Im facing the problem that in Mexico the availability of memory went to the floor with the shortage, and has not recovered yet. Closest memory I can find is a Kingston Fury 2400mhz 1x8 stick, would this work? At the moment Corsair and Adata have more presence and still offer more variety than Kingston, would mixing brands work incorrectly? I appreciate any advice, thanks.
  2. Yes some things you cant even get, and if you can, they are very overpriced. You can buy stuff from US and get slapeed with import fees, I just took the bullet and bought a rx580 for $248 + $50 of import fee
  3. Just ordered one, Gigabyte gaming variant, did you do any special settings to it? or left yours as is? I dont know if the switch from nvidia to amd requieres uninstalling current drivers
  4. For some reason the savage products are out of stock and not available in Mexico, I believe with the shortage they said fuck them. I will try to order one and see what I can get, If not a 2x8 will have to be. Thank you
  5. Yes, very hard, the only thing that doesnt inflate is Intel cpus and some monitor brands because they seem to be invested here. Will cop the 1x8 Adata one after recovering from the gpu. Thank you for your help sir.
  6. Thank you for that good comment, Ive been hunting for gpu prices and found a mispriced rx 580 for $300, it hasnt dropped from $500 here in Mexico, but every once in a while Amazon Mexico drops prices for no reason so grabbed that. My next step will be the ram, only 2 available here, a 1x8 Adata stick and a 2x4 Corsair kit. I still have 3 slots left on my mobo and they cost almost the same, wich one would be a better choice? My present ram and these 2 ones have the same speed.
  7. EDIT: after investigating more, the single channel ram is what makes it so bad, there are rigs with a 1050 2gb and dual channel ram (same amount but 2x4) that outperform my fps, also the 960 has been upgraded to a rx 580 8gb and a minimal increase was achieved, single channel ram still holding back, for anyone that relates to my issues. Been playing the Battlefield V beta and my performance is not the greatest but I still manage to play, this was normal in Bf 1 but now its getting a little more unplayable; My specs: I5-7500 Gtx 960 2gb updated today 8gb of ddr4 at 2666 mhz (kingston savage, 1 stick) Game and windows running on a WD blue 1tb with an Optane slapped to it Im aware that the 2gb of vram is a weak point and 8gb is not being enough these days, I attach screenshots of usage of cpu, gpu and ram, only the game and MSI afterburner running. My question is, upgrading what would give me some extra performance? Game is on medium (auto) with dx12 disabled (auto too), low settings barely make a difference in fps. Any opinions are appreciated, thanks to all
  8. Thats exactly the problem, you can go the hard way and change the partition to the one your installation uses or just create another usb installation that is in GPT format. I use rufus for this, just tell rufus what usb are you using, where is the iso you want to load and select gpt where asked, then repeat what you did and it should work
  9. I just cant understand how the higher settings help me in this case, but Im okay with that.
  10. Hi, about cranking up the details I found something really weird. I decided to open Geforce Experience to see what settings nvidia recommended for me; they recommend a mix of low, medium and high (I will attach them), and to my surprise, my fps went up by cranking up the settings. Instead of the annoying 40-50 Im getting 55-70 now. I have no idea of why is this happening or how this helped me because the resolution is the same and the game isnt scaling down, and yet it looks better with more stability. Aside from that, is it actually okay or safe to kill every single thing in task manager (except for system things)?
  11. I did this upgrade just to play Destiny 2 in peace, I hope that it doesnt need that much vram. Gpu upgrade is on the plans now but it takes me a long time to gather that much money. Thank you
  12. Looks like vram is my problem so new gpu is what it needs. Is there any setting that can be cranked up that doesnt consume too much vram? Or one that can be cranked down to reduce vram use? The weirdest thing is that when the hardware was just installed i got the smoothest 61 fps with a minimum of 58, not even explosions, 64 players or blimps going down made it go below 58. But a few days later this is happening.
  13. I didnt expect the gpu to be that bad, I upgraded from a dual core amd apu and the difference is giant, my gpu never went over 20% usage because of the bottleneck . What gpu do you have?
  14. At first I tought it was thermal throttling thats why I started monitoring temps, but seems like that isnt the issue. Maybe I need to overclock the gpu?
