  1. Ive set it so that it connects to any of 10 or so servers in my home town, so watch time I connect it's a new server. This problem happened 2 times and on different servers. I should have written this in my post, but today when it happend I tried to switch to another server without disconnecting, and it did nothing. Only a full disconnect and reconnect fixed it I am of course only downloading Linux ISO's
  2. I recently decided to get a VPN as my friend was hit with a 800$ settlement for file sharing. I decided to try out Mullvad VPN as its cheap enough without having to commit to a long contract. As to the problem, I was downloading some big file and let it run over night, when I woke up it was downloading at 300b/s down from 1.5-2MB/s yesterday. I figured it was maybe just the torrent that had gone dry, but tying to just load a webpage took a few minutes, so I ran a speed test. it was sitting around 3Mb/s before it failed. Restarting the VPN fixed it, now i was getting around 100/10 which is what i pay for. This has happened 2 times in a week of on and off use both times when i had had it active for a few hours. I'm using wireguard, ipv6 is off, windows 10 home Does anyone have any idea of what might be causing this? if I don't get this resolved I'm gonna switch to another VPN next month, so if you have any recommendations that would also be appreciated. I'm looking at PIA rn as its one of the cheapest I've seen on the 2 year plan EDIT, a smal addition that I forgot to include in the original post: Today when it happend I tried to switch to another server without disconnecting, and it did nothing. Only a full disconnect and reconnect fixed it.
  3. I just bought the AOC Q27G2U (there's a curved version too, CQ27G2U), 1440p144hz, VA, FreeSync/G-Sync comp. for like $350 It looks great, the better contrast of the VA panel really shows, its amazing that blacks are black. some people don't like VA because of the slower response times, but using the strong overdrive mode I honestly don't notice anything. its not officially certified as G-Sync compatible, and out of the box it doesn't work well, but its easily fixed by changing the refresh window from 48-144hz to 50-144hz with CRU.
  4. it probably means that you are using the basic windows monitor drivers. go to the manufacturers website and download the latest drivers and install them manually. the built in windows driver updater is horseshit.
  5. yah but i explicitly stated that grounding is not an option, multibple times.
  6. its hard to quantify, but its uncomfortable to hold the connection for more than a few seconds.
  7. Hi, I sent this following message to the evga support: They were quick to respond with offering me a RMA to send it in so they could take a look at it. Although since I am, for what I think are quite obvious reasons, not so keen on sending away my PSU to the other side of the globe for God knows how long, I wanna hear a second opinion. Have any of you experienced anything similar? Could this just be semi normal behaviour from the PSU since it's not grounded? Thanks.
  8. Yeah no ground, but i expericend the problem when the keyboard was connected to a laptop too, so that shouldnt be the problem
  9. Nope, old house with no ground. But since this also happend when the keyboard was connected to a laptop on battery, it has to be something else
  10. My keyboard, Corsair K70 Lux, is at random shocking me. This isnt static electricity, as the electricity flow is continuous for multiple seconds. It happens about once every other week or so. When i happens i can feel the electricity from the metal screw in the chassi. The shockes are of course not dangerous as the keyboard only pulls about 2.5w. I have tried to change the usb port on my motherboard, it still happens. It even happend once when i had the keyboard connected go a laptop. Its fortunately still under warenty and ive begun the rma process but between the retailer being unhelpful and corsair being slow af, its taking it time. I'm just curious if anyone has experience something similar, or can guess as to what the problem may be.
  11. Yes, they should have focused on what they do best, designing architectures. And left the production to the people who do that for a living
  12. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bloomberg.com/amp/news/articles/2020-07-24/intel-considers-what-was-once-heresy-not-manufacturing-chips “To the extent that we need to use somebody else’s process technology and we call those contingency plans, we will be prepared to do that,” Swan told analysts on a conference call, after the company warned of another delayed production process. “That gives us much more optionality and flexibility. So in the event there is a process slip, we can try something rather than make it all ourselves.” With Intels recently announced delays for their 7nm process node, following the end less delays of their 10nm node that only now is starting to enter mass production it is no longer unthinkable thst Intel would consider outsourcing in the event that we get another 10nm situation. And in the future maybe even going fabless. They already made a deal with TSMC a year or two back to outsrouce their low-end chipsets. Following the announcement their share price dropped dramaticallly by as much as 15% at the time of writing, and as a resault both TSMC's and AMD 's share price surged. Edit: spelling
  13. Really? It says that the 8700k is 18% faster in the "AVERAGE GAMING BENCH" not in productivity, not overall. if you had looked a bit to the left you would have seen this. if you had been arsed to scroll down 5 rows you would have also seen that the 1950x is listed as 35% faster than the 8700k in their productivity benchmark.
  14. This is great news for everyone, cheap SSD, they won't be as durable as the 'normal' ssds we have today, but they will greatly make up for that in price, so maybe we can finally say goodbye to the hard drive and go fully solid state. I recently read a post here on the forum discussing news about WD shouting down one of their HDD factories, this seems to correlate well with their big steps towards QLC flash. EDIT: post i was talking about, by AlfaProto, SOURCE: PCGamesN
  15. Now I wasn't very keen on the term UHD to begin with, I mean Ultra what bruh marketing much? 4k should IMO be called QFHD but whatever, although I guess "ULTRA high definition" sells beter than "Quad Full High Definition" But I guess it kinda makes sense because everyone know that "ULTRA" really is just a prefix for 9... Anyhow if we're now sticking with UHD for 4k then 8k should logically be called QUHD, "Quad Ultra High Definition" So that would be 4x ULTRA which obviously is 36x 720p HD because quick mafs, like brah didn't you learn the multiplication table for ultra in school? Jokes aside this also makes sense looking back at 720p HD and 1440p QHD, so why not, it's just more confusing to call EVERYTHING UHD. What do ya'll think?
