  1. Thank you for your reply. I am currently trying to narrow it down and it even works if the HDMI cable is only connected to the GPU but not to the monitor. I even had a successful boot without the HDMI cable connected a minute ago which I was not able to get for 2 days straight.
  2. Hello there LTT community. I am writing this post after 2 full days of troubleshooting and I am out of ideas right now. The history of the issue is a little long, but I want to include all details so that someone can hopefully help me. System i7 4790K AsRock H97 Pro 4 16 GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 RAM Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 (Zotac AMP! Extreme Edition) Issue Description For a few days I noticed some artifacts / glitches on startup within the windows logo screen. Those were never present during normal use, just during startup. A few days later I wanted to use my system but the monitor (connected via DisplayPort cable) stated "No Signal" after showing AsRock Logo and Windows Logo. I tried a few reboots and after like 12 of them the system turned on as normal and I was able to play games the whole evening. A day later the same issue happened but this time the reboots did not do the trick. After forcing the system to shut down via holding the power button a few times, instead of showing the normal windows logo I was able to get into windows troubleshooting / recovery. From there I could boot to safe mode and everything worked fine there. That made me think that there has to be an issue with my GPU Driver as it is not loaded in safe mode but right after the windows logo on startup. I tried uninstalling the driver in safe mode and after that the system boots up as usual with the windows basic GPU driver. During installation of the Geforce driver the system rebooted suddenly and was back with the same "no signal" issue as before I was thinking that maybe Windows 10 is at fault and tried to reinstall it via a USB thumb drive but that lead to a sudden reboot after the windows logo (preparing to start from external drive). I tried to swap GPUs to a 1060 I have in a second system. This time I got a strange output via display port (windows logo only taking ab the left 1/5th of the screen and being very distorted). I called it a day and went to bed, researching other troubleshooting steps on my phone. The next day I tried more things that came up with my research: I plugged my 1070 back in, plugged in the monitor via HDMI this time and everything works normally, even displayport output. I did a re-install of the latest Nvidia driver at this point to make sure that the sudden reboot during the last installation did not break things. I can reboot, play games, do whatever I want without an issue. So I closed up my case, removed the HDMI cable and there was the same no signal issue again. So bottom line is: The system only boots normally with HDMI connected to a monitor. If this works, DisplayPort output also works fine. Otherwise I will get "No Signal" after the Windows Logo on boot. EDIT: Latest tests show, that it seems to be enough to have the cable connected to the GPU without it being attached to a monitor. Has anyone ever faced a similar issue or has any idea what's causing this? I am 80% set on a software issue, as everything works with both ports connected. Any help would be really appreciated!
  3. The bullets are not the formfactor I'd like because the case should go on the table. I looked at the magnum sma8 but holy crap that costs as much as a 1080ti
  4. Yeah well even without the sleds you will never be able to see the reservoir from the outside because of the huge internal mounting panel for those sleds. bummer. But if there is no other option I think the H440 will be the case to use.
  5. Looks neat! I like it as an alternative to the s340 elite but I dislike the right third of it. This huge non removable drive cage and non-window part on the side panel does not deliver the big *wow* of the 340 elite when looking at it.
  6. Unplugging it would be the first thing to do. Especially with the 303 I find them really disturbing, but this boils down to personal preference. I am not entirely sure, but right now the NZXT H440 is on top of my list. Not as understated as the 340 elite but plenty space for radiators. And too small side window. Hm.
  7. I also had a look at those but oh my god those front panels. The cases are really great looking But I cannot have this on my desk. If they sold the 303 without this display in the front I'd be okay with them. I know that I might sound a little snowflakey on this but I am going to build a new system for several years and I don't want to cheap out on such things. I just noticed that those are not even displays but just IN YOUR FACE THIS IS OUR BRAND LOGO VERTICALLY WRITTEN AND CHEAPLY ILLUMINATED IN A RECTANGLE INSTEAD OF HAVING THE LETTERS BEING ILLUMINATED ON THEIR OWN! sigh. As for your Radiator suggestions: That is what I am thinking of. That there is no D5 pump currently is a real bummer considering the aluminium series.
  8. Good to hear for the gaming temps. Although the Phanteks cases are great feature wise, they sport a design language that I am not able to speak...like black brushed aluminium and no white non-brushed option. or those grills in the front. NZXT is just spot on with their S340 elite and I am so disappointed by its radiator support. I am looking through like every popular case manufacturer for a week or so now and noone comes close to the S340 elite, be it corsair, phanteks, fractal or whoever. Either it is brushed black alu, has ugly 5,25" cutouts (who needs those in 2017?!), no dust filters or strange proportions (I have a fractal design define r5 and if you ever saw it with a radiator in the top position you know what I mean), a way too little side window to show a nice loop.
  9. First things first: Amazing build. Looks gorgeous. BUT you are basically confirming what I am afraid of. 82°C on the not overclocked CPU on load is really not what I want to look at in such a small space. After an hour or 2 of being loaded this can shoot up in the high 80ies or even 90ies I guess because of the water heating up slowly. I would not be able to pull off any meaningful overclock on the planned 7700K that way. I have the 4790K myself right now and I know that it becomes a vulcano basically when being overclocked. And that's with you having basically the maxed out radiator configuration plus one exhaust fan at the top. There is just not much headroom there it seems.
  10. Hey there! I am currently planning a new system. Relevant parts to put in the custom loop (will be my first one!): i7 7700K 1080Ti FE I am having an eye on the EK A240G. I am quite sure that the 240mm rad alone won't be enough. Now comes the tricky part. I am in love with the aesthetics of the NZXT S340 Elite. This can fit a 240mm in front and a 120mm (EK support told me they will release a 120mm alu rad today) in the rear position. The components will be subject to overclocking. I want to go for 4,8-5,0Ghz on the i7 (depending on my luck with the silicon lottery) and 2100MHz core on the 1080 Ti. Questions 1 & 2 Has anyone any experience with the S340 Elite (or non-Elite which should be the same cooling-wise)? Will this be enough cooling capacity for the components to stay cool at their respective levels? My plan B would be a NZXT H440 which can fit a 360 in front and top which should be enough. I could get a A240G + 360mm rad expansion for that. But I don't like the small windows and the restrictive airflow with the drive cage on the right. I would need to drill this one out and then there is not much space to mount the reservoir and....well. It would be a plan B. Question 3 If anyone can point me to a case with tempered glass on ONE SIDE (looking at you phanteks evolv tg - who would want the "managed" cables to be seen through glass?!), preferably available in white, as much alu and steel and as little plastic as possible and the clean aesthetics of the s340 elite...I'd appreciate to have a plan B2 Greetings!
  11. I was thinking to contact Asus about the issue but I cannot find out how long their warranty on this monitor is. It is like 2 years and 1 month old.
  12. I will try that, thanks! Only thing that seems odd is that the issue started appearing after like 2 years of use with the included DP cable. Any cables you can recommend?
  13. Hey there! For like a week or two I am facing an issue. During use, most of the time when first launching a game (in windowed mode, sometimes Hearthstone, sometimes PUBG or Rocket League) my screen #1 gets disconnected, both screens turn black and then only screen #2 comes back on. I can only fix this by turning off my screen #1 and turning it back on. I cannot figure out where this is coming from. My setup: i7 4790K Zotac 1070 AMP! Extreme 16GB RAM Screen #1: Asus MG279Q (I know, FreeSync Monitor on a 1070, but I had a 290X before which died) -> connected via DP Screen #2: BenQ el cheapo 24" Panel -> connected via HDMI Has anyone an idea on where to start troubleshooting? Things I already did: - reinstall GPU driver - reseat all the cables Thanks in advance!
  14. For the front mount there is no slot higher, as this is a 280mm rad. Could mount it on the top but I don't want this huge dust intake. (Front has dust filter) additionally, I once had way better temps. Maybe I solved the issue with the moved hdd cage and ambient temps (all year high here in Germany) keep the results at that mediocre level. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I also have no more clue.
