  1. Using one of those builders DRAMATICALLY increases the cost compared to building it myself. Do you think that the supermicro chasis posted before and the dynatron passive heatsink will be enough? If I changed out the included fans, would that be enough?
  2. I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I was searching for a datacenter first which I think I found. I was looking at future upgradeability which wouldn't be possible with the dynatron coolers because they only have an 85W TDP. I then looked at https://www.neweggbusiness.com/product/product.aspx?item=9b-19-113-545 . Coolers for this guy is another problem. There isn't alot in the 1U space. I think watercooling may be the best option? (yes, I know thats a different socket)
  3. You can get a *slightly* better deal by buying the full 64GB kit together if you haven't already purchased. See: https://www.newegg.com/corsair-64gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820236072
  4. I think at this point the build out is done as long as no compatibility issues arise. Thanks for all the help guys.
  5. RAWR. It'll be fine. I can work that out with my host.
  6. Forgot to include, has IPMI and from what I read, ram orientation matters for airflow.
  7. It'll work. My host has access to these, he can swap them out if it fails (if I have an exact part that breaks that he has, he'll switch them for no charge other than onsite hands), they're from asus, so reputable, and... works. Is there something else that you recommend? I know you don't need a "server" motherboard but thats what initially led me to it.
  8. Extra 230 to prevent downtime and possible data corruption is worth it. Chasis is something I can use for years. Hardware will be replaced in less.
  9. You asked for the best card. That's probably the 2080ti super or some Titan variant.
  10. Return it. 100% Microcenter may exchange it. Crazy things happen when you ask demand things
  11. Do you have a recommendation for a redundant PSU chasis?
  12. I see. As far as replacement parts, my host will replace broken parts, I just need to pay the time for the onsite techs and rent/buy the hardware from them. I do see your point though. That chasis also only has a single PSU. Do you have personal experience with this chasis? How did you decide it was the right one? I'm wondering so I can make an educated decision myself. I think something with redundant PSUs would be nice.
  13. Yeah, everything was going to be raid 1. I'll take a look at those drives. Additionally, isn't $300 for a piece of metal, some fans, and a backplane expensive?
