Considering Microsoft is a sponor of Mclaren, you might have to run Linux instead of Windows ;D.

Every Apple OS can only run on hardware sold directly by Apple, run any Apple OS in a hardware not manufactured and sold by Apple is against the terms of service of the OS.

It does not matter if you're dual, triple booting or any thing.

There are a few ways to answer this question really.

If you have the space and the time to bootcamp the machine, it's pretty safe to do, doesn't take all that much time over a regular Windows install, and you'd be able to benchmark for yourself to see if it's worth it - if the performance is the same or not much different, it's easy to swap back to OSX and get rid of the bootcamp partition.

Alternatively, you could have a look for other people with the same/similar hardware running the game under Windows, but that's going to be less likely to give you relevant information since there's no guarantees you'll find information about the game running at the same resolution and settings you use.

Still, it'll give you an idea.

Like what Tabs said, it doesn’t hurt to try if you have the space to do so. Though be warned, Apple likes to screw you over for using Boot Camp and you’ll definitely need some tools in your windows install to keep the CPU temps down as you can’t use the Intel HD under Windows at all. So you’ll be running your GT650M constantly. I have the same MacBook and it wasn’t fun, I eventually had to dump the Windows install due to space concerns, but the experience wasn’t the best if you planned to have it run silent or not burn your legs (or hands, the keyboard gets pretty toasty too). I used Macs Fan Control (has both an OS X and Windows version, very useful) to watch the CPU and GPU temps and adjust the fans accordingly. I would recommend regardless whether you keep Windows on or not, especially on an older MacBook like that.

I would get a single card for now and spend more money on upgrading the rest of your system.

FX has pretty poor IPC and its not going to help you with things like rendering

Oh Maxwell cards are awesome for gamers, they just suck to the miners due to not being as efficient as Pascal/Polaris.

Don't be afraid to get one, way back I had to chose between a brand new 1070 or a Maxwell TITAN X 6 months used, went with the X and god damn terrific choice, the card manages stock 1080 potential for gaming when overclocked and it's CUDA Acceleration plus 12GB of VRAM are excellent and superior to the 1080 even. That was great for my brother who works with video editing and such, we got a 1080ti for me and he kept it.

A 970 delivers the same user experience of a 1060, being realistic with a few downs here and maybe even a few ups here.

Try and find a deal on a 980 or 980 Ti on Craigslist. I got my 980 Ti for $300 just before the mining craze, they're at about $350 now. I you're a good bargainer, you could ports whittle someone down to $300.

I would advise waiting for a new architecture and in the mean time get like a ryzen 5 1600 and some b350 mobo

yes but if you buy a new amd or nvidia card for msrp on launch day or soon after you can get a new card before the price skyrockets

Could be 6 months+ as video card manufacturers do not want to overproduce, it is really unpredictable.

Try not to buy used shit on eBay, it may work, but it may have been overused for mining and not perform sufficiently, try to go on craigslist I believe for the US and gum tree for the UK, where you can pick it up and test a benchmark or two on the persons system to check it is fully functional. However if you can get a fairly cheap 970 which is 100% operational, buy it, around the same as a 1060 and a good overall card! Or you can wait for the Ethereum stupid craze to slow down, which could take a lonnnng time... and buy a pascal card.

I 've never used none of the new cpus, but from what i ve seen from reviews and pricing right now the r5 1600 seems to be the choice because it has the most value of all....if you dont plan to change cpu in the next 5+ years you can go with the r7 1700  for a more "futureproof" solution....plus you get a free good cooler for free with either of them...

    sorry for my english

R5 1600 will be a nice upgrade for you.

Still a 6 core but a far superior architecture with >50% IPC (instructions per clock) performance increase over your current CPU.

EDIT: 7600k is a bad buy since the launch of the R5 1600. The 1600 is a 6 core 12 thread processor which handles games well now and has room to cope with future games using more cores/threads. Vs the 4c 4t 7600k that is already at 95-100% usage, not only does it cost more than the 1600 it doesn't include a cooler, will require a more expensive Z series motherboard, no room for future growth in multithreaded games of the future due to being saturated already and its socket (LGA1151) is basically end of life and will be discontinued next year as opposed to the AM4 socket being guaranteed for 4 years.
