Yea, about at the end of it's lifetime. So would RAID 1 be the best option, when the 300GB one dies, there will still be a mirror version on the 1TB one, right?

I don't really know the read and write speeds of it, can you link me a program that tells you them?

Cool, I got an old 300GB and will soon have a 1TB drive, is there a point in combining these?

I got a no name brand (or I just couldn't find what brand it is) Ram in one slot and i'm buying an extra 4GB stick with it. They're Kingston 1600MHz sticks

very nice, and one more thing... when I put the CPU in PC part picker it gives me a note where the Ram voltage of 1,5V exceeds the maximum CPU voltage, should I be worried about that?
