  1. If you think you want more memory capacity, then do that over speed and timing, 5000 still cares about timing and speed but less so than your 2nd gen, rn is an excellent time for memory prices, so i would certainly recommend another 16gb (I'm assuming you already have 2x8) if you think it would benefit your dev work you could go 2 x 32gb and sell your old 2x8(not for much... but its something) why do you want an AIO, it probably wont perform better and its more work and worry... No, keep the chipset. if you don't have a feature in mind you don't need the new chipset. also i think the used 3080 would be a way better value than the 4070, keep the budget for more or faster memory.
  2. I'm trying to setup an ambient lighting project behind my main monitor with a project called Hyperion. it needs a copy of the images on my screen for it know what colors to display behind my monitor. The main way to do this is with a USB capture card, i was wondering if i can use like a $15 one off amazon without passthrough and mirror my display, I'm assuming that it won't support 1440p 175hz, which is what my main monitor is, will this be possible or will it drop my primary monitor to 1080 30 or what ever the capture card supports. Also will mirroring a display give me a performance hit, i don't think it should but i also don't know. If it matters I have a 3070 ti and a Ryzen 3rd Gen. ps. If anyone has used hyperion lmk how it went.
  3. also no coment on the jank in this pc

  5. yea i am really missing my blower 1070, cuz with that and my current setup the noctua fan wasent even turned on. The only noise i could hear was the aweful VRM fan
  6. what do you mean by that, idk if my photo was misleading or i dont understand. The PSU intakes and exuasts into/from the cassae

  10. do you mind using non licenced windows cuz the built in Remote desktop in windows pro isnt the most feature rich product but it is simple and works well im my experience.

  12. Hi, i just bought a pallit RTX 3070ti, to go in my computer, it pretty easily goes up to like mid to high 80s on a heavy load, and is loud as all hell. Like crazy loud. Its in a Lian Ii tu 150 which is a small form factor case, its not crazy small but i think my gpu and choked and kinda breathing its own breath. i was thinking of maybe trying to come up with some ducting or something with blue tape to force it to get fresh air, any other suggestions? I had a blower card before and it was all good, although it also wasent such a high wattage card.
  13. i kinda want 8 cores, the budget is rather flexable, i might buy a used/referb x570 board for $180
  14. im going to wait untill i can but something decent for like 700usd wether that is 40 or 30 idc, do i realy need an 800 watt psu for a mid teir gpu?
  15. https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/E7B89v1.1.pdf pg40, make sure you can keep your computer on during the whole process, it will damage your computer if it turns off half way through.
  16. its an MITX so i have limited usb ports on the back, and i want the most number of usb ports as i have lots of things to plug in.
  17. that sounds like more of a bios issue or something with the cpu and pcie lanes becasue thats not a monitor issue, i would try flashing your bios then you could try reseatting your cpu and ram,
  18. Pure rock is a great pick, but all three of those are good picks aswell.
  19. Budget (including currency): like 900 today and like 600-700usd for a GPU later on Country: United states Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: comp fps(csgo,Valo), league, AAA story game(Outer worlds, Halo Infinite, ect), hopefully cad type stuff in the future Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): im going to keep my 1070 untill i can buy a card a 3070 at msrpish, i need it to be Mitx and preferably in the Lian Li TU-150. This is what i was thinking(https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PPJnYg), am i doing any thing wrong or does this look good. I also have storage and Ram
  20. im planing on building a MITX build and the mobo(https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-Motherboard-B450-Gaming-ITX-AC/dp/B07FVVNDFX) im looking at only has 2 usb headers. afaik a typical usb header can carry 2 plugs, there is this weird connector labled USB_5 i think its for some cooler RGB thing or smth, the manual shows it as thisif i made the adapter do you think i could run an additional port off of this plug? PS, there are a couple places i think this thread could go, i think this is the most appropriate, correct me if im wrong.
  21. a typo they didnt even strike me as weird with there current naming schemes
