i'd still recommend waiting for the 20XX cards to come out, they are going to ship in april and should help lower gpu prices in the current market since they are making em as fast as they can

This season is horrible, carrying over the worrying trends from the end of the last season: it's rushed AF. Seasons ago, we would spend who knows how many episodes in resolving tiny episodes plot lines like Qarth or Rose, but in the last couple seasons even major plots are done in two scenes. Characters teleport all over the planet like this is Star Trek (I know that times is supposed to pass by, but there is no sense of magnitude at all. And I would like to check for actual consistency). It's almost like they ran out of the kind of money that it would take finish this with the same level of detail as the first few seasons, (or motivation, as it would take who knows how many seasons) so we just get to watch the trailer for the ending instead

That's fair, because these are subjective opinions. Like some people don't even like this show to begin with

They can make 20 years go by, it still doesn't change that the scenes are back to back. It's a choice of storyboard. I don't like the result.
I don't think we had it earlier either. I think we could have started "tying everything up" earlier, and avoid the drastic change of pace. The show is good, but pace has been irregular, too slow for my taste at times, and too fast for my taste right now. Having fewer episodes in the last 2 seasons doesn't help
No. I just give credit where credit is due (or discredit, when applicable ).

No, you don't. You're just assuming things about me so you can engage my like you do the redditards, because that's what you are used to. It's... infuriating.
I don't complain. I make assessments. Assessments about the TV show characteristics of a TV show. If I think someone acts badly, I can say so, whether you agree or not. It wouldn't be an excuse to complain, it would just be a valid opinion of a quality-relevant part of the show. Same with story development, direction, sound, makeup, whatever. You can't say that commenting on these things is more or less relevant depending on whether the opinion is negative or positive.
Would you be "infuriated" if I had said "this season is fantastic, they nailed the narrative pace perfectly"? If the answer is no, then you are not angry at what I talk about, you are just angry about me disagreeing with you.

    Good, and valid.
    Irrelevant.
The dark fire will not avail you, flame of Udûn. Go back to the Reddit!

My "complaints" are an articulate assessment on how the wrong choice of pacing can degrade the enjoyment of an overall good TV show. Since the last few episodes of season 6, I don't get to savour the plot(s) development like I used to, mainly due to the show's choices on how to present the latest developments. It doesn't need to have the same effect on others. This is, after all, the "Game of thrones discussions" thread. Feel free to create a "Game of thrones unanimity" thread.

If this is something for the company, then upgrading to or waiting for the latest and greatest isn't always the best thing to do. Get what you know works and is well within your requirements first.

Linus in regard to the hardware that keeps hier company running doesnt go for "bleeding" edge hardware. the bleed in this case are bugs and other things that make the hardware unreliable. That is why Linus gets hardware that was the best 1 gen old. bugs and things are gone and the tech proofed it self.
besides its Intel knowing them you only missing 5% performance improvement compared to last gen.

Still would lean on the side of not fixing it unless you get a new shell.

A piece of electrical table across it in an "X" pattern (a few times over) should be strong enough. I really wouldn't go sticking something that can turn into dust or chunks/particles into a device on the notion of looks.

You have a cool story to tell about how it got broke if asked... and you are worrying too much!

i typically dont suggest the the surface products because of them not being upgradable and impossible to fix likewise the mac doesnt come to far from that exact issue barring all dongle/third-party hardware and money struggles aside.

Since your using it for work with CAD software and some media creation/editing
-it is clear that you want to get something with a tapped processor running on all cylinders so newer i7s are a must especially with processor heavy tasks like editing and CAD
-next would be advised is to get something with a graphics chip to unload some of that work from the processors and pic up some extra grphics capabilities i.e. 3d physix for CAD.
-finally typically i never suggest starting out or limiting your search to what already has a ton of ram or included Solid state drives because you can upgrade those your self when ever needed.
    (Ex. i7, gt1070,ssd and 16 gb ram = $1500 <<<<  hdd and 8 gb ram gt1070 i7 = $899)

     - closing thought for a work pc i would keep in mind the battery life because you dont wanna be stuck to a wire

lkuseian reacted to CakeArmy_Max in LinusTechTips should cancel contracts with Synergy.
I've been sitting on this for awhile. I have left comments. This is so frustrating. Synergy sucks, their support is horrid and their software is buggy. I have tried contacting them and have a ticket STILL OPEN for months now. No response. Why are they partnered with such a horrible company? I connect both computers via ethernet. Sometimes, the cursor will sometimes just get stuck at the side of the screen and not go through. It has problems connecting. It randomly disconnects, the cursor will move over into random spots. One time, my cursor was at the bottom of one screen, and then it appeared all the way at the top when it moved over? Both computers were on the same monitor model? WTF? My keyboard uses scroll lock to turn on backlights. I cannot disable Synergy detecting that, so I either have keys I cant see or I can use both computers. I can type without backlights, knowing where keys are, but when I am using that other computer its for odd tasks and late at night where I am groggy.
For these reasons I think Linus should not renew his contract with Synergy.

Can someone please tell me Colton's tag so I can @ him so he sees this?

Thanks for reading, sorry if its in the wrong space.

    Also:
I have the premium version of synergy.
this happens with SSL on and off.
same version of windows on each machine
Connected to same router via ethernet
    Everything is consistent!

also, FYI, if a user gets reported for going off-topic often he'll earn a spamming warning, so that's why reporting stuff like this is important.

It's also possible that it can take a few hours, it's rare but it happens from time to time, we're all volunteers and have lives outside of the forum, it sometimes happens that not many mods are online at some point during the day/night and slower "response time" are to be expected. But we do our best!

Yeah, we often get stuff on perfecting the whole PC, not just one component. So if you need a network card and are planning on buying an i5 rig to put it in, we’ll all freak out and scream Ryzen!  If anyone gets too far off topic (I’ve.... never.... done.... that...) just report us and the awesome mods swoop in and clean it up.
