  1. I'm running with an SSD plugged into the motherboard and a RAID card with 4 drives. I had a WAY better system going for the NAS until it just stopped working suddenly. I'm planning on building a new system, just need to save up.
  2. If you've already cleared the BIOS then I think the best thing to do is remove stuff one at a time, graphics card, one stick of RAM then the other, trying to boot the computer each time. If those don't work then try reseating the CPU. This will help track down the issue. If the computer still loops then it could be the CPU or motherboard.
  3. I'm at work so I wasn't able to look at it for the model. The T5500 sounds right though. Since it's my NAS and on 24/7 I'd like to use as little power as I can.
  4. Did you build the computer or buy it 4 months ago? Did you try plugging the computer into another outlet in the building to rule out the outlet itself? Do you have a PSU? A PSU should have a power filter to help with dirty building power. How's your cooling setup working? Can we get a picture of things running inside the case?
  5. I have a Dell Precision T5500/T3500 (can't remember the exact number). It's running with dual CPUs with the second CPU and its ram on a removable riser. Is it possible to remove the riser and run the Workstation with just the one CPU on the motherboard? I'm using the workstation with TrueNas and I don't need both CPUs and I'd like to be able to lower the power usage since each CPU is 92W.
  6. is there a way to make apple health to sync data from google fit? I was able to get google fit to sync with apple health app but not the other way around. I use the apple health app primarily since I have a apple watch, but I can only use the google fit app with my schwinn 810 treadmill. I can't get the apple health app to connect to the treadmill and my watch won't count the steps since my hands are on the rails.
  7. How would 4 sticks make things unstable? I've used 3 and 4 sticks for decades in multiple pcs without any trouble.
  8. wouldn't using 4 sticks help with the stream processing because of quad channel and help keep things from getting lagged down with everything going on? I read that OBS could use a graphics card so I want to be able to take advantage of that but also would like to be able to run the projector and have a monitor or two from the same computer. I think that the CPU I have on the list doesn't have an APU built in so I'll need a graphics card.
  9. I'm wanting to build a streaming PC for my Church so we can stream to Facebook, YouTube, and twitch. In the picture is generally what I'm thinking that I'll need to make the streaming computer. Ideally this computer would be able to stream using OBS, a few cameras, while running powerpoint (possibly with music and videos). the price in the picture is probably the about the max that we'd be able to afford for a streaming computer. Any thoughts about I could build this better or if I'm missing something that I'd need to make this work?
  10. I have a D-Link DIR-859 and even though I'm getting my 500Mbps service from the ethernet ports on my router I can't get more than 30Mbps through wifi. The throughput of the router is 1300Mbps for 5Ghz, my M1 MacBook Air has 1200Mbps, iPhone XR 1300, granted that these numbers are for in an ideal environment but shouldn't I still be seeing higher numbers? The router and devices are in line of sight and about 10ft from each other, and nothing in between them. I feel like I'm spinning my tires with this, even went as far as to reset the router. Any thoughts and ideas would be awesome!
  11. would an adapter going from USB-C to HDMI send more power to a projector or tv than going from HDMI to HDMI? Another question right now to work a projector we are going from HDMI on the computer to VGA connected to the projector. Every so often the connection is lost due to the VGA cable being a little too long, I've lowered the resolution and refresh rate which has helped but is there a was to improve the signal without having to install repeaters or would that be my best option?
  12. Got a new PSU and even though I could install freenas from usb on a drive I still can't get passed Verifying DMI Pool Data. Could the bad PSU have taken out something on the MOB? The PSU that I'm using is a know good one from Corsair. I'm guessing that I'm SOL with this one.
  13. same connections (non modular) and same power cord for both systems and PSUs
  14. probably right. But this guy has been used in other system for a couple years and it worked good. That link had the solid gear neutron but I didn't the proton. But was would the solid gear work in the beast with new ryzen cpu, video card, and a bunch of led fans but not the gigabyte?
  15. the thermal take PSU 430W I had in a makeshift server started hissing when it was under load. Hissing is a bad sound for a PSU so I replaced it with a solid gear proton 550W that I had as a spare. When I switched the old PSU out my AMD am3+ system wouldn't start, only the power LED on the front of the case will turn on. I have tried unplugging everything but the CPU fan and removed all PCI cards so there was only the MOB, RAM, and CPU to power but the system sill wouldn't power up. I took the solid gear PSU and plugged it in to my to much newer AMD Ryzen system and it powered right up. I then took the thermal take PSU and plugged it into the old system and the thing powered right up. On the old system I took out every card, unplugged every drive and fan, reseated both the ram and CPU, and tried each stick of RAM separately but the my fm2+ system wouldn't turn even try to turn on with the solid gear PSU. I have no clue what's going on! PSUs- thermal take TR2 430W Solidgear Proton 550W MOB- Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 CPU- AMD FX-8320E
  16. I added a little lube to the Z axis screw and the wheels just to make sure that they would move freely, the lube was made for mechanical watches. I'm a little wary of enclosing the printer with just anything due to the heat, but I've been wanting to build a cabinet for it, maybe when I've saved up I'll build a proper one. I'll try the change in flow and support patterns.
  17. Moving the printer helped a bit but it's still messing up.
  18. tool 220c bed 70c speed I think is 150 I'm using Ultimaker cura (can't beat the price of free) I've attached the .3mf and gcode. I don't know if the 3mf was what you were looking for. I'll try moving the printer somewhere else to see if that helps. key_hookb.3mf key_hook.gcode
  19. the slicer put supports under the hooks and when printed they looked fine to me. The left of the printer is a window. The window is double paned and the blinds are pretty much always closed. I tend to keep the door to the room closed. I've had the printer there for several months and never had an issue like this before. The screenshot is my printer from my Ocotoprint's point of view (I need to place the camera better). The edge of the window is a couple inches closer to the camera then the print head and just off screen like 2-3 inches to the left. The backside of the print is the part that is furthest and to the right (where the hooks are pointing to) This is the best picture I can do today, I'll leave the print in place and try to take more tomorrow.
  20. Upped temp of tool to 220c and bed to 60c. It still didn't come out. It always messes up in the back side of the bed.
  21. I keep getting these gaps/empty areas in the backside of my prints, the curves in the front of the hooks are rough too. I know it's not humidity since I used brand new filament. I've tried: slowing the print speed, upped the feed rate to 105%, adding several more layers to the walls, rasing the bed, lowering the bed, rasing the tool temp. I'm using a ender 3 pro with a 0.6mm steel nozzle and PLA+. I've never had this happen before and I've been trying to fix this issue for over a month!
  22. can I still use Touch ID to login to my m1 MacBook Air or would I have to use my password every time even if I just wake it up by opening the lid and not just when I reboot it?
  23. in anyway, just a general question
  24. random question. Would I be able to link my MacBook Air to a pc via the usb-c? I know you can't do it with older USB but I think usb-c is bidirectional which makes me think that they might be able to connect two computers together. I don't understand that much about usb-c/thunderbolt.
