  1. Where would I find multicore enhancement? Temps when I was using 5ghz at ~1.35v it probably would get like ~70C maximum, but then would go down as clockspeed goes down and voltage. What exactly else would u want to know, also I used CPU-Z at the same time as well just to make sure.
  2. Basically I've been trying to overclock my 8600k with Prime95 as a stress test, but the frequency fluctuates like crazy according to Core Temp and HWinfo. Specifically I've been using this method to check for stability https://overclocking.guide/stability-testing-with-prime-95/ and i've only gotten to the 30min test runs. At first I used auto voltage and see how much it used as i increased the clock speeds to 4.9ghz then tried it with manual overclock to minimize the amount of voltage I would use at the same clock speed, but for some reason the frequency never stays at the target amount for longer than 5minutes before fluctuating and the voltage follows suite, despite both being fixed at certain values. I've even just tried something as low as 4.3ghz oc at close to stock voltages but I still see the same results. I included some pictures of my settings. Theres also the option that this is somehow normal? Any help would be appreciated thanks! https://imgur.com/a/f84vVgE
  3. but does stressing the cpu this way represent how it will act normally if i want to test its stability?
  4. Oh so should I change it to a fixed value like 0?
  5. So I've been messing around with the OC and at first I just left voltage at auto and just changed the multiplier, all core temps are <70C at 1.35V, but a problem I've been having is whether its Prime95 or Realbench, the clockspeeds dont stay at my multiplier. Is there any other settings I should change to address this. Also if I want to keep a stable voltage can I just jump to 1.35 and mess with the multiplier after? Thanks!
  6. So I've been playing BLACK ops 4 recently with a Windforce 1080 and 8600k with 8gb of 2133mhz of ram and I can get around 120fps but sometimes have huge stutters down to 20fps. I'm thinking it's the ram but it never goes above 85% usage and theres always around 2000mb on standby
  7. yea sorry probably should mention it in the main post but i have an i5 8600k
  8. Basically Black Ops 4 and FFXV have times where the games have huge fps drops and I assume its because of the ram. I currently am running a 2x4gb G.Skill at 2133mhz frequency, I was wondering if its worth it to get new 2x8gb at higher freq or just add another 2x4gb to just get my frames stable. My current build is a windforce 1080, i5 8600k. Thanks!
  9. mostly gaming as I mentioned in my other comment, I don't think I'll benefit that much from higher frequency? I dont really know really lol
  10. i should probably add that my mobo is the MSI Z370 PRO A and I've been using it for gaming and recently blackops suggests 12, so guess I'm upgrading.
  11. Hey, so I have these old G-Skill 2133mhz 2x4gb sticks and am in need for an upgrade, would it be better for me to look for another pair of 2x4gb sticks or just a new pair to make 16gb or even more? It kinda sucks cuz RAM is expensive af rn but i really want to upgrade. Thanks!
  12. Hey guys, I was just wondering if I can expect the 8600k cpu to be on sale around black Friday week? idk how you could tell the future but I was wondering if there was a high chance till drop to ~300 like it has before
  13. Hey guys, was just wondering what kind of OC I could get with these parts and if you would change the air cooler to something else for better cooling which would you suggest. My PSU I'd a 620W Seasonic S12II or whatever. Thanks! https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/lucidire/saved/qpsvnQ
  14. Sorry to bother you again, but what is the difference between changing the fan curve in the BIOS and tuning start BIOS?
