Indeed, if it was just about the product then they could slap an RTX 4050 Mobile on a PCIe card and call it a day.

Actually I think this is precisely to avoid them being e-waste.  Getting rid of a load old RTX 3050 Mobile chips now that laptop manufacturers will want to be using the RTX 4050 instead.  Or because they have faulty memory lanes and/or SMs.

DOOM, DOOM II, Fallout, and Fallout 2 all are officially supported on Windows 95. Steam sells them, and if you transfer the files onto a Win95 PC you can get them working.

Demanding that they make Steam work with Windows 95 is a bold move Cotton.

ravenshrike reacted to Obioban in BMW Drops Its Controversial “Heated Seat Subscription”
More importantly, BMW's cars no longer drive well.

From 1966 to ~2010 (varies by model, but whenever the model in question moved to electric power steering) BMWs drove vastly better than any of the cars they competed with. Today, there is nothing exceptional about how they drive-- just generic transport.

As someone who had only driven BMWs for the last 20+ years, I stopped buying new ones around 10 years ago, and not a single car they make today appeals to me.

I still have 4 older ones around, but they'll never be replaced by anything BMW has offered in the Turbo/EPS era.

When I'm not in control of the vehicle, I'm falling asleep... does not matter if I travel by a bus or a car. So I could never use drive assist as long as it's not fully self driving without having to intervene.

I'd like for the car companies to focus more on "usability" of the stuff they put in the cars. I feel like it's more dangerous to set up AC when driving rather than be on my phone because I have to stare on a dash board screen controlled by touch based UI that is made by someone who made main menu UI for new CoD.

Please, I guarantee that TSMC has a plan set up to get all the management and essential personnel out of Taiwan and into the US in case of invasion with their blessing to destroy the plant upon successful CCP occupation.  Now they can't say that publicly of course, but make no mistake such plans are in place.

Less newest trick and more reversion to historical means of lawsuit. Also, no jail time is implicated in these laws, just fines and injunctions.

Which according to multiple studies it very much is, ESPECIALLY for females.

Not really. The Duke Bros were rendered homeless and destitute following Trading Places as shown in Coming to America. For Elon it would merely be a 20-30% haircut. Painful, but not complete devastation.

Properly commented and tested code doesn't break nearly as often, but given that all Twitter code commits are immediately live because Twitter never bothered to set up a beta series of servers, I'm betting that all the rest of the code is complete shite as well.

Which from an author with a clear axe to grind means exactly bupkiss. as for "academic data" regarding trolls, that is almost certainly worth less than the photons outputting it on the computer screen the author read it off of. Oh, and as for the bodyguards, as the photo in
this Times piece shows, he goes everywhere with them. Which makes sense when you consider he is one of the richest men on earth and regularly pisses people off.
