So i've tried it in the third x16 slot which didn't solve it but decreased the startup time by a lot. I measured about 3 minutes before and now "only" 2. To make sure it isn't anything else I've also taken it out and voila 5 second startup time is back. It is weird because the adapter doesn't have any bad reviews and the drive worked perfectly in the Mac.

The adapter: https://amzn.eu/d/eWjbk13 Don't really know if there's a model number that makes any sense to share because it is a apple original part but shows as "Apple SSD SM1024F" in the bios. My system has a SanDisk 500gb SSD where windows is and a 2tb Samsung Evo 980 with Linux. There are some hard drives but this shouldn't affect any of this. I did a clean format of the drive with diskpart. Weird part is that is does show up in the boot sequence (from which I removed it) but not in the info what is plugged in (in picture)

Hey, I got a SSD from a colleague that was originally in a Mac pro 2013. It is 1TB in size and I thought this might be a cheap way to get an extra SSD. Before installing I had a bios time of roughly 5 seconds max. Now after installing it I have to wait over 3 minutes. It just sits at the main board logo. I used a pcie to apple SSD converter to fit it into a pcie X1 slot. Mb: b550 Aorus AC CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X 32gb of Corsair 3600mhz Any ideas how this could be fixed apart from throwing the SSD out? I already tried fast boot but it isn't working any better.

the temperatures were measured on a 6700k with 90W Tdp. What is to expect on a 140W CPU?

Hey, I got a Xeon 2643v3 for cheap and have had it in my PC for half a year now. The thermal throtteling has been very bad (30% on Aida64). I have a old 120mm AIO on it and wanted to know witch temperatures I have to expect getting a air cooler with a 140W TDP rating and if you have any recomendation for coolers under 50€/$

Hey, I've seen these dc step up converters on Amazon and wanted to ask, if I took one of the 4 volt to 400kV units and placed my finger in the middle of the two output contacts, what would happen? Would I get burned or would I get shocked. Can I get shocked with only 5*10^-5 ampere? PS: the current is limited due to using AA batteries Paul

i opened it and there were no signs of burning or overheating. After that I tried the thing were I plugged in a wire to short it and voil la, the voltage goes to nearly nothing :D. the transisters look fine too. I have no idea where to look next

I don't check how the current dial works yet. I have tested it before, but it didn't make a difference even if I rotated the dial all way. Can anyone explain this. (I tested it before the accident

I plan to do it in the next days

thanks

Could be the case, if it's not, do you have another idea?

Hey, I often test things with my bench power supply, but yesterday, as I tested some sparks with a coil I shorted something and the fuze didn't blow. Now I have a supply which is locked to 30 Volts but can deliver the standard 3 amps. My question is, if you could tell me the parts that could be broken (maybe to fix). It's not digital, it is analog. Thanks Paul
