Dissitesuxba11s got a reaction from Azshoka in Mx Master 2s - 2 different versions?
Might be different codes for different regions. Googling the codes don't really show a difference between the two codes.

The site had like 1.5B monthly visits last year.
80% of them were me but that's besides the point

I'll say two things. They are way too expensive and airpods are so popular because they AREN'T over the ear headphones. I expect these to sell well but don't expect anything close to airpods

Dissitesuxba11s reacted to Arika in Cyberpunk 2077 finally but will it run for you?
i guess i'm one of very few people that dont actually care about CP2077. nothing in any of the trailers or press releases has made me go "woooow, i HAVE to play this". I personally think it got waaaay to hyped which will make people disappointed

Yes, you do have to provide proof of retail employment.

Dissitesuxba11s got a reaction from WikiForce in Show off your latest purchases
Follow up, the 3950X arrived today!
Luckily I have the Asus Crosshair VI Hero, one of the X370 motherboards that can support the 3950X stock after a BIOS update (I don't plan on OC-ing). It runs a bit hotter than the incumbent 1700, but that is to be expected when you double the core/thread count, but my custom loop can keep it cool.
Happy with the spontaneous purchase. Do I need it, definitely not; the 1700 was plenty for what I do. This is absolutely an impulse buy and we've all been there. These purchases don't need a rhyme or reason other than because I can. I'll only regret it if prices of new 3950Xes drop to under what I paid for in the coming weeks.
Also, today I learned that I hate cleaning thermal paste off of CPU's especially on PGA CPU's. You have to be extra careful to make sure not to bend a pin when cleaning that goop off and that took forever.

Dissitesuxba11s reacted to IAmAndre in [B&H] Macbook Air M1 for $899
This is a pretty appealing deal. The newly-released MBA is already $100 off. This is the base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
It's currently out of stock so it's only available for preorders. It would still be a good Christmas gift!

Someone else would have to buy them that's not Intel.

Dissitesuxba11s reacted to Eigenvektor in What if intel bought amd?
This would create a monopoly in the x86 market, so regulators would never allow it.

Dissitesuxba11s got a reaction from dalekphalm in Do you think things were better before (circa the turn of the millennia)?
We like to romanticize the past because we remember fondly the good things about it and completely ignore the fact that it wasn't all that great. Once you take off the nostalgia glasses, you would not even consider that the past is better than the present. We have come such a long way in the mere two decades after the turn of the millennium that it's practically a new world to our 90's self. The past has its ups as well as its downs and the same will be said for any generation to come.

Yes, this exactly, and it's also greatly exhaggerated by the fact that OP is going off other peoples' opinions and memories as he wasn't even alive back in the 90s.

Dissitesuxba11s reacted to williamcll in Even faster than DDR5 - Memory overclocking reaches 7Ghz
It is known that currently the fastest speed that DDR5 offers out of the box is 6.4Ghz. Recently a user by the name of Baby-J managed to set a new world record in RAM speeds by pushing the single stick of crucial BALLISTIX MAX 4000 16GB to 7Ghz, surpassing the previous holder by 337.6Mhz
Source: https://hwbot.org/submission/4608761_baby_j_memory_frequency_ddr4_sdram_3502.1_mhz
Thoughts: That is impressive. I can't imagine how fast RAM clocks could go if a current generation RAM could hit 7GHz. Maybe the10Ghz barrier would be broken in the foreseeable future.

Dissitesuxba11s got a reaction from WkdPaul in Rene Ritchie criticizes Linus' take on the M1, Linus should reply...
I figured as much. This seems like a pointless discussion since we are only talking about Linus' hot take on the M1 and this would be better discussed once a proper review is done. We can't be so reactionary on things that are not based on data/third party reviews.
